Sarah Jessica Parker Is Nothing Like Carrie Bradshaw

Sarah Jessica Parker Is Nothing Like Carrie Bradshaw

Sarah Jessica Parker is nothing like her 'Sex and the City' character.
The actress - who plays columnist Carrie Bradshaw - didn't
agree with the raunchy antics her alter-ego and her friends got up to.
She is quoted as saying:

"If the audiences had known my true feelings about
some of the sexual content in 'Sex and the City', they may have felt I
wasn't the right person to be in such a series."

Sarah - who recently became the mother of twin girls, who were born via a
surrogate - admitted she didn't even like drinking Carrie's famous
Cosmopolitan cocktails.

"I just don't drink, that's part of the problem. I don't like
the taste of it and I don't drink to relax. It has always been that way."

Unlike her co-stars - Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon - the
44-year-old star had a no-nudity clause written into her contract as she
wasn't happy flashing her flesh.

"I was thrilled that the others did the nude scenes so well and
they looked great. But I have to deal with my own modesty."

We all can't be as free as Kim! LOL!

I like Jessica and bought her clothing line when it came out; It's very cheap in price.....you get what you pay for.

I agree.....I really like her as an actress but more as a person. Ive seen her in some one-on-one interviews and she seems great. I also like her line Bitten! I have many shirts and even shoes from her like...very cheap and affordable. Too bad Steve n Barry's went out of business! ***annie***

I always thought she was an odd choice for the character. I definitely think she pulled it off, but it was an interesting choice to begin with.

She's an amazing actress and I'm glad she took the role. I'm sure many, many actors can't relate to the characters they play. ;)

She looks kinda old in those pictures. I like her, but she's just showing her age a bit more nowadays. Especially in the neck region.

I love SJP. She is a wonderful actress. I don't think Sex and The City would have been as good if she wasn't Carrie Bradshaw.

I loved Samantha, I dont know why but I always though Carrie was very unattractive and her whole "me me me" mentallity in the show turned me off to her.

She is great actress and it's probably more challenging to portray character different from who you are in real life.

I guess that proves what a good actress she is, playing someone so unlike herself.

I'm not a fan of hers, really, but I did like her as Carrie, even if she chose the wrong man. ;)

Oh, that whole Big thing irritated me to no end. He can't commit, he disappoints me, but I love him and this will work! No wonder so many of my girlfriends don't see anything with putting up with their men's bull.

Hope she dresses her girls better than she has her son. It is ridiculous for him to be walking around in pants 3 inches too short.

Oh get over it! There is no "standard" in how you are supposed to dress your child.

hexkitten hexkitten said:

There should be.

Besides, it's not like we're arguing that people who love their kids should only dress them in Burberry and never in anything from Target. Just make sure your kids look presentable and not like an afterthought.

"There should be?!" OK, who in the hell is supposed to set the standard? Taste is subjective.... THANK GOD.

I like this. It's nice to see an actress who worked to form something different from herself. Too often I hear actors say "I only take parts that are like me" - it seems to make the point of finding a particularly good actor moot.

I'm struck by how gracious SJP is in all her interviews. She handled the "no nudity clause" issue with such grace, honoring her costars while maintaining her boundaries. Extra kudos to her for playing a character outside her wheelhouse. Very, very impressed with her.

It must be hard for her to try to convince people that she's not like that. After all, she was part of a very successful show where everybody knew the characters inside out. There's also the danger of being typecast into this type of role as well. Love SJP through and through. I can't wait to see the new SATC movie!

i was going to say the same thing feewer. But my all time fave part she played was Sarah(ithink that was the name) in Hocos Pocus and that probably took the least acting ability. Although playing a ditz might have been difficult for her because she doesnt seem like one in real life.
