Ashley Olsen Gives Up Acting For Fashion
Ashley Olsen doesn't consider herself an actress anymore. The twin has left the industry to focus more on her fashion career.
"I used to be in the entertainment industry. And now I feel passionate about the fashion industry. I understand what it takes to make a brand and to have an eye for product that sells. I don't have the time to step away for a month. I hold myself accountable every day."
How does she unwind after a long day at work? With yoga... and lots of junk food.
“I am literally the worst eater in the world," the self-professed "French fries and hamburger girl" tells the mag. "Being in the garment district, it's Subway or pizza. I never actually thought about what I eat."
Ashley is trying to live cleaner however.
"I learned about cleansing and eating right for your body. I came back energized."
So is actng really a thing of the past?
"Never say never," she says. But adds: "I really just love my job."
The nay sayers can talk trash about the Olsens, but these girls have been working since they were in diapers! Ashley really understands what it means to work and work hard at something. I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.

This seems like old news to me. The twins have been into fashion for years and have their own clothing line as well, nor have they been acting, save a guest spot or two, so this doesn't surprise me one bit. I like the girls, they march to the beat of their own drum and I like that.
She's probably just trying for a bit of promotion. It doesn't hurt to keep your memory alive, right?

I remember the day when the internet had a countdown until these girls became legal (18) to date. So many guys were hot for them. Now everyone makes fun of them. I still think they are great.
The countdowns grossed me out. I remember seeing a bunch of men posting, "Well, there's nothing wrong with it, because it's not like we're fantasizing about sex with them now, but when they're 18..." OK, dude? It's predatory. If you don't think so, try telling a father of an underaged girl, "Man, if your daughter was 18 - " and see what happens.

They both have worked (or been worked) hard, and hats off for that. But calling a rose a rose, "cleansing" is a ten day minimum starvation diet. For after a binge. So, lets see, would it sell if she called it what it is, bullemia? Beyonce "cleansed" for dreamgirls and lost 25 pounds in 10 days. Naomi Campbell regularly cleanses, and knockes folks about with trajectory cellphones and the like. Judith Reagan blamed signing OJ "If I Did It" on day three of her "cleanse". The fashion industry and entertainment industry has so many euphamisms for bullemia. A cleanse is a better way of saying sticking your finger down your throat, or "tasting" the newest way that Tyson was outed for doing by Enty last Saturday.
Models aren't "fierce" they are starving and pissed off about it. And pretty sure the Olsens say "prune" because that is all they eat for days at a time. Let's face it, the Olsens are the original thinspirations, and all the little girls eat it up, and will be doing this cleanse after the mag is on the streets. Sad.
Cleansing doesn't necessarily mean starvation. I've looked into it, and the ones I could see myself doing involve paring out a lot of foods that aren't ideal. Gluten is cut out, as is just about all meat except fish (ideally salmon). Fruits and vegetables are allowed, although there are charts that will show which ones are better for the digestive tract than others.
As far as bodies of people in the entertainment industry, your comment smacks of exactly WHY women go to such extreme lengths. Your comment just screams about how you're just one more person watching and judging people's body types. These women can't win. There's always somebody ready to call them out, no matter what they look like.

You missed my point, I don't, I find it disgusting. And the cleanse that is huge in hollyweird is the lemonade, maple syrup and cayenne pepper for ten days only one. That is the one I referrence. Yes, there are whole food cleanses. That isn't what these particular famous I named people have bragged about doing. Me thinks the lady doth protest too much.
Actually, there are probably hundreds of ways to cleanse. The "master cleanse" that you describe has a name, and that is not what Ashley said she did above. Maybe you should go to a site like Cure Zone and find out just how many, many variations there are of cleansing. Even just increasing the amount of water you drink and eating more leafy greens could be considered a cleanse. The word "cleanse" is not a blanket word, and certainly no excuse to get on your soapbox about an extreme version that a few people have done. BTW, all religious institutions and ideologies have long held the value of a fast; only in very recent times has fasting become a dirty or extreme word and look how fat and unhealthy we have become in recent times...
Never occurred to me that may be why Naomi Campbell becomes so enraged at times. Makes perfectly good sense.

A lot of people do make fun of them but I like the twins, especially Ashley. Mary-kate is the one people usually make fun of. Why should they care what anyone think? They have millions of dollars and they aren't even 25 yet. They could buy and sell the haters a million times over.

Why do you equal having millions to being extremely happy? comfortable, yes they are, not having to worry about paying the bills? yes they have that. What makes you think just because they have millions they are happier than others? There are plenty of people who have less than these two, and I bet you are happier than the Olsen twins. I guess the reason these rich young kids turn to drugs and alcohol is because they are so f*cking happy.

Sorry, but I don't think these girls work "very hard." MK doesn't really work at all and Ashley strolls into the office when she feels like it, I'm sure. As for pizza and Subway, the little troll should walk a couple of blocks and she'll find better stuff to eat.

She sounds pretty well grounded in this interview. I don't believe for a second that she's a burger, fries and pizza type of girl though.
I wouldn't have thought she goes for that kind of food either, but, she's young enough that her metabolism probably still beats the pants off of such things. Good on her.

I never really understood why they were considered such great fashon girls? Other than this cover, every time I see either of them, their hair is a staraggly mess and it looks like they threw on a crumpled old bedsheet and called it a dress... I don't get it. I know they have a children's clothing line, which, awesome, good for them.. but as for adult fashion.. I just do not get it.
Maybe they're better at dressing or designing for other people, or maybe some people appreciate that they take risks with what they wear.
