Bachelorette Jillian Harris Blogs About Keeping Wes For Too Long
Anyone out there a fan of 'The Bachelorette,'? Admit it, this kind of reality show is so addicting!
Jillian Harris from the show is blogging for People and she touches on an issue that everyone has been wondering about...why she kept Wes around for so long. She writes,
So … Wes! I know I kept him for WAY too long. I FULLY admit this.
Someone on here wrote the truest way to explain it — it’s like you’re
watching a horror movie that you starred in … And all your friends are
yelling at you, “He’s behind you! He’s behind you!” Ha. There are so
many ways to explain my connection with Wes. I cringe to admit this,
but I truly was blinded by many of Wes’s “good qualities” for the
better half of his stay that I refused to see all the red flags (and
there were a lot of them!).The thing is, for the last 10 years of my life, I have been
surrounded with everything “urban,” my adult life has been all about my
work and being in the city and I had this fantasy of being with someone
that reminds me of where I came from, you know, camping, driving down
the old dirt road, my guy working on the truck out in the driveway,
listening to country music, cracking a beer on a Sunday evening on the
old front porch … Scrreeeechhhh! What? Jilly! You have been listening
to too many honky-tonk songs! Ha! Wes defined that fantasy to a tee,
though. And the others were such city boys, I had such a hard time
letting that long-time fantasy go.I still don’t know if Wes had a girlfriend,
but I do think Wes was there for his career. Along the way, we did
build a friendship but his presence on the show was a disservice to
both of us. It made me look like a fool and like I had bad judge of
character, and it made him look like someone he is not. I guess this is
what you lay out on the line when you sign up for something like this,
right? Ultimately, you are all still entitled to your opinion, but I am
a huge supporter of forgiveness and I hope you can give Wes a break and
lay this one to rest.

its about time she kicked that wanna be "anything" to the curb! He was only there to promote his CD. When Jake came back to tell her about Wes and they confronted Wes she should have sent him packing. What a low-life!

Totally agree...
He was so revolting through out the entire episode! From his "numero uno" comment, and then the "If it's me you know I'll be back home having a lot of sex" comment, and finally everything he said in the limo- that man is a poor excuse for a human being- yuck!
He went on there solely to promote his CD, but I don't know how much good it did him- he definitely went to far with the whole any publicity is good publicity idea- I don't think fans of the show will be interested in supporting him

It was clear as day that he was there just to promote his music. Every time the camera was on him, all he talked about was his music, never about Jillian. What an ass wipe. I'm glad she got rid of him.
He did say at the end that he was the only one to have ever made it to the top four with a girlfriend...mannn she is so slow. I would have believed anything about that dude simply because he had something to promote and even if he didnt have a girlfriend, he was still there for all the wrong reason. I love love Jake but i hope she picks Reid in the end

I wouldn't say she's pathetic but I definitely think she's a little misguided in how to find men that are gonna be there for the long haul. She's sent away all the men that were really there to find love and that were ready to commit to her. Now she's got Ed, who already left her once, Reid who's not only insanely neurotic but also his brothers dropped that nice little bomb about how Reid never had trouble finding girls- they just disappear, and I-never-do-the-pursuing-Kiptyn, all of these guys seem like they have some commitment issues- I've really lost interest after she sent all the good ones home.

I'm thinking whoever she "ends up with" won't end up being "the one" for her after all. She doesn't seem ready, what with taking Ed back (and I do love Ed!) and keeping Wes so long, not to mention letting Jake go in the first place! Ugh. They never choose correctly!
My hubby just asked me about Wes' music, and I told him anyone who buys his cds hasn't seen what a douche he is.

Wes is the definition of a scumbag! He claims editing made him look bad. He did that all by himself! Ladies, please learn from Jillian's mistake. Don't delude yourself into some fantasy. See it like it is not like you want it to be. I'm with Anon 11:50 - don't put a dime in Wes's pocket. DON'T buy his CD and see him perform. We need to teach men that these kinds of scummy moves don't pay off. He showed the world what he is. Do you really want to hear him sing a love song.....puleez!

Wes was for sure there for his career! I personally think he did have a girlfriend based on slips he had a couple times, but we don't know for sure. He was not worth her time and it is too bad she kept him there as long as she did!!!
You will never find love if you can't see the writing on the wall. There was nothing subtle about Wes. He was a arrogant a-hole from the get go. And the "I wrote you a song" line, you bought hook, line and sinker. He probably wrote that shitty song for Laurel. All of the guys tried to warn you that Wes was there for the wrong reasons, yet your still floating down that river called DENIAL. He openly admitted he had a girlfriend in the car on his way home, why are you not wiling to believe him when he tells the truth and yet believe him when he bold face lies to you?? You are not ready for someone who will treat you nice, your in it for the chase and you will end up for sure with a broken heart! I won't cut that scumbag any slack nor should you, he wasted your time and took up a spot where someone sincere might have wanted to be..but you would have rejected someone sincere, you only want the guys who are never going to make a commitment to you.. have fun on your merry go round sweetie..
