BBQ Day - Lazy Night

BBQ Day - Lazy Night

I wrote this question on my Twitter, but I have to ask here as well. Do you cook twice a day (if you don't work)? Dinner is right around the corner and I just don't FEEL like doing it all over again. We just had a HUGE BBQ with my family for lunch and I am too tired to think of doing anything else.

What do you do normally?

I usually cook once (in the evening) and then do sandwiches, soup or grilled cheese at lunch, things like that. If we have BBQ or a hot meal at lunch, I'll do sandwiches etc at dinner time instead.

I cook at least once, sometimes twice. Tonight I am putting ribs on the grill. I didn't cook lunch today. We both fended for ourselves. Since we have been very busy the last couple of months, I will stop and pick up take out on my way home from running errands for one of the meals 3-4 times a week. That's not normal for us but with the move it is now. Hubby retired and is home alllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the frickin time now.

Usually when it's my daughter and I at home I'll do a light lunch but at dinner when the hubby gets home I have a full fledged meal. The tricky thing is when my hubby has the DAY OFF then I do make 2 complete meals sometimes even 3 with breakfast!!

On the weekend when we all home, i cook 3 times, breakfast lunch and dinner. My daughter is a meat person as well as my husband, i can't afford not to have warm meal for them and i throw in lots of vegs either separately from the main dish or together, depending on what i'm cooking.
If i'm really lazy, they always glad to have some milk soup or blackwheat porridge(considerably fast) with some salad and sausages or just with milk will do as well

It's so funny, because if it weren't for my husband, I'd probably only cook once in a blue moon and live on salads and yogurt. I think it's so interesting how we tend to feel the need to cook for our husbands. I always end up making lunch on the weekends, even though during the week, I usually just snack all day.

We don't really act like a married couple in that aspect. We kind of just fend for ourselves. My husband doesn't like my cooking, and so we just make our own food. LOL

ahah so then you just make mac n' cheese for your kids for din and eat some frozen stuff for yourself. ORRR... make BLT's... I just had that half an hour ago -- UNBELIEVABLE -- The lettuce and tomatoes were from my momma's garden and couldnt've been fresher. Don't forget the mayo and salt and pepper!!! I'm a student, and when I'm away at university, it's all cookin' for myself. Sometimes i"ll make a real meal for dinner, but for lunch i'll either grab a meal on campus or just make some soup or whatever. As a student with a part time job on the side, there is no time for cooking twice a day; sometimes not even once! It's work, class, and study study study, and cleaning. Then you have to make time for some partying of course on the side. ;) Cooking doesn't exactly fit in too often...

How come it seems like everyone here cooks for their husbands but their husbands dont cook for them?! My dad cooks more for my mom than my mom cooks for my dad and they both work full time! I don't believe that women should do all the work for the men.
