Kara DioGuardi Talks About Paula Abdul Leaving American Idol
Kara DioGuardi went onto Ryan Seacrest's radio show this morning to talk about how shocked and saddened she is that Paula Abdul is not returning to American Idol.
"I can't get over it. I'm completely shocked. It's such a loss for the show, such a loss for the contestants. She's definitely the heart of the panel."
"The kind of heart she treated the contestants with she treated me with last year. She was so kind to me and made me feel immediately like part of the panel."
The new judge says it was never the producers intentions to replace Paula and that in the end - it was Paula's decision to leave.
"The way I'm understanding it is that it was her choice to leave. I never was here to replace her. It would be impossible to replace Paula Abdul. She's an incredible talent. She is somebody who helped make the show as big as it is. How could you ever replace that?"
"If anything, she was really somebody who helped me because it was awkward at times being the fourth person."
Has she spoken to Paula?
"I've left her a lot of messages. I talked to her last week. I haven't spoken to her this week."
All this fuss! Will it ever end?

I only watch the auditions and very, very rarely have watched once the competition was really on. However, Paula always seemed loopy and spaced out.

Paula is an idiot who tried to play hardball with the big boys, she demanded $20 million, they countered with 8 and she eneded negotiations when she quit on twitter. The big boys would have gone10 but whackjob screwed herself out of an easy job that put her in the public eye and allowed her lots of free time to persue her other interests.

I think you got the numbers wrong TMZ says they offered her $4 million per year ($12 mil for three years) and she wanted $10 million a year deal. Ryan gets $15 million a year (a $45 million 3 year contract). Is Ryan worth 11 million a year more than Paula??? Simon gets $144 million per year according to Huffington. Other sources say his new contract is $40 million for this year (1 year). Last year Simon made $36 million to Paula's $2 million. Things are way out of balance. A $30 million contract over three years was not unreasonable given the other contracts. Equal pay for equal work. I think they screwed her and the plans were in place last year so they could push them out. They sure got Posh quickly hmmmmm I lost respect for AI.

Loved Paula's cooky remarks, its what made it entertaining. Randy is great. He was part of Journey!!!! love watching him laugh behind his paper at auditions, and the three together were great all the way through. Dont like the new girl. Paula will be missed. She was also is one of the greatest choreographers of all time. Everyone should look into randy and paula's backrounds before judging. They were invovled in BIG names............. Agree with Emches about the Paula "now"

yeah i think she knows paula is not leaving. kara wouldnt stop saying how much she loved victoria when she met her recently while being a judge.

Of course it was her decision to leave. It was an embarassment for her to know how much others were getting pay. Mean while she wasnt even close to gettin equally paid compare to the other judges. Im glad she left!!!
