Dane Cook Refuses To Apologize For Vanessa Hudgens Joke
Comedian Dane Cook presented the Choice Hottie award at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday. Before he presented the award, he made a joke at Vanessa Hudgens' expense (more nude photos of the Disney star surfaced last week of her talking on the phone topless).
Dane joked, "Vanessa Hudgens, girl, you got to keep your clothes on! Phones are for phone calls, girls!" and was booed by the audience in response.
Vanessa herself was sitting in the audience.
Dane isn't backing down, however, and defended his joke.
"I planned it about 20 minutes before I went out there. (I said it) because I like to be on the cusp of fear.
"Mostly I just wanted it to be funny. That’s the best part about being a comic, when you go, ‘Maybe I can say the thing that everybody is kind of feeling and nobody (is saying).’ The elephant-in-the-room (awkward) moment. So, I’ll take it, I’ll take the hit. It’s okay."
Dane's cook was cut from the telecast, but TMZ has the footage here.

I think the joke was funny! If you don't want to be the butt of a joke, don't do something stupid like taking naked photos of yourself. People need to learn how to have a sense of humor these days...... So yes, I'm on Dane's side.

That's her business and her life and even though i agree that if you don't want something that's not meant for others to see or know eaither do it well or don't do it ar all. I just think that it wasn't the right place or event for that type of joke.

I completely agree. This joke was a stupid idea whether anyone thinks it's true or not. It was just rude. Her pictures are none of his business. IMO DANE SAID EXACTLY WHAT HER PARENTS SHOULD HAVE TOLD HER. Vanessa is 20yrs old now, so perhaps she wants to do more risque things. I heard she is going to be in a movie where she plays a stripper. Who knows!N This is why parents should try to be the role models for their children and not rely on celebs to be the role models.

Well dancing on a pole is okay with the Teen Choice Awards so really what ISN'T appropriate anymore for shows geared towards teens. They all think it's great to be all scandalous and skanktastic in public but, no, it's not. It comes back to bite you in the butt. Team Dane ;)

I agree with him. If she didn't want to be made fun of she shouldn't have taken the pictures. Frankly, in my opinion, when you have not one but TWO nude photo scandals you're setting yourself up for it. Should we all just ignore it because her feelings might get hurt? Maybe now that someone has publicly embarrassed her for it, she'll learn her lesson. And besides its true, she really should keep her clothes on when there's a camera in the room.

NOTHING is private anymore. They have done Dateline and 20/20 stories about this very thing. She's an idiot and she should have known better. Which makes me think - maybe she leaked them herself? At least not with a cell phone or other kind of digital cam. Learn how to develop a film yourself, it's not rocket science.
