Julia Jones Lands Leah Clearwater Role In Eclipse
THIS IS A GREAT ROLE TO WIN! Stephanie Meyer has said many times that she would expand the 'Twilight' series with books dedicated to Leah Clearwater because the character is so complex.
Congrats are in order for Julia Jones aren't they? She has officially been assigned the role which means that Vanessa Hudgens lost out.
"This all happened just a couple of weeks ago and I start filming in two weeks. I've been carrying the books with me everywhere I go and I'm almost finished reading them."
Julia admits she needs to get into shape and fast!
"In human form the werewolves are in incredible shape, which is why Taylor had to bulk up for New Moon," she explained. "I should probably start running again!"
Is there anything that the actress is worried about?
In the book Leah has really short, cropped hair. So right now my biggest concern is that they'll make me cut all my hair off!"
Yikes! Small price to pay though right?
She just plain will fit the role better than V hudgens IMO. Good choice they made!

Vanessa has too much of a little girl vibe, which I never got from the Leah character. Funnily enough, Julia Jones fits the mental image I had of the character.

I was hoping they chose Q'orianka Kilcher. Qorianka has worked as a leading actress opposite names such as Christian Bale, Colin Farrell and Berry Pepper and is a much better actress than Julia. Unlike Julia, she is the right age (19) for Leah and fits the role perfectly.
Qorianka had my vote!
With Julia as Leah, no wonder Sam left her! lol

Wow, Vanessa Hudgens would have been so wrong for that role. I don't know Julia Jones, but physically she looks very much like what I pictured as i read the books.

I don't think she's right for the part, i mean it's way better than Vanessa but she looks too old for 19, and Seth is supposed to be 15 (Boo Boo looks 15) but she looks really old.
