First Listen: Fiona Apple's 'I Walk A Little Faster'

The sound is a lot different from her first album that's for sure. Looks like Fiona Apple has grown up a bit since she first hit the scene (and I fell deeply in love with her) so many years ago.

But do we like the new sound?

Take a listen to 'I Walk A Little Faster' and let me know what you think.

is that her real name?

No actually her real name is Fiona Maggart... Apple was like her grandmother or great-grandmother's maiden name or something...

I LOVE IT!!!!! I agree Vera, I first got into Fiona back in 1996 when I was an angry teenager (haha) but I like her sound more and more as she (and I) get a little older. Great song!!

Eh, you have to take her albums in whole though, b/c she's got some good and some bad on each. Not a fan of this song, but I do like her as an artist.

haven't heard anything about new music from her in forever!
thanks for the upload. she actually has 2 tracks on this album...

She can do no wrong in my book. I too absolutely adore her. She is just a few days younger than I am and since I heard her the very first time I felt as though she was singing my inner monlogue.

She is amazingly talented and strikingly beautiful. I have always been impressed with her desire shine through her talent alone.

It's a COVER. "featured on the full version of The Best Is Yet to Come - The Songs of Cy Coleman out now."
I really hoped for a new album. :(

I've never been a huge Fiona fan, but this song is very good. It's quite a different sound for her. It's like Diana Krall meets Norah Jones.

excellent -- great that she's gone to jazz!

fiona is brilliant. i'm not surprised to hear this is a cover.. it didn't sound like her style. i can't wait for a new album. WE LOVE YOU FIONA!!!

I really loved her first album and some of her newer stuff. She still looks like a angry teenager!

She sounds like the female version of Tom Waits.

I still listen to Tidal and When The Pawn like they just came out. I wasn't too big a fan of Extraordinary Machine (but I love that song, just not the whole cd). Fiona sounds like she always has...which is wonderful.

I had Tidal from way back in the day. I like When the Pawn, but Extraordinary Machine IS GREAT--definitely my favorite. I hope this is from a new album.

This has nothing to do with her style changing because it's a cover.
