Vanessa Hudgens Is Ready To Be Treated Like An Adult
Vanessa Hudgens wants to be treated like an adult. The 20-year-old actress – who is dating Zac Efron - admits it’s hard to get rid of her teen idol image and is now ready to showcase her acting talents.
"People think of me as the ‘High School Musical’ girl. There's nothing wrong with that. My character was a great role model, but I get so bored doing the same thing. I want to grow like everybody else."
Vanessa – who plays a prostitute in new movie ‘Sucker Punch’ – also spoke of her upset over nude pictures of her which were leaked on the internet.
She told Allure magazine:
"It's just really unfortunate, and to this day people hate me for it, but it's not like I chose to put that out there in the world. It's so aggravating and frustrating, and whenever anybody asks me, would I do nudity in a film, if I say that it's something I'm not comfortable with, they're like, 'Bulls**t, you've already done it.'
“If anything it makes it more embarrassing, because that was a private thing. It's screwed up that someone screwed me over like that. At least some people are learning from my mistakes."
I guess that's one way to look at it. Perhaps having the scandal blow up has prevented other young girls from sending naked shots of themselves.

"At least some people are learning from my mistakes." Ummm.. shouldn't she first and foremost learn from HER OWN mistakes? I mean, it happened twice, girl. How about YOU take something out of your mistakes. She's acting like she is above it and she has nothing to learn from what she did except for us mere mortals. If you want to be treated like an adult, act like one and embrace your mistakes and learn from them yourself. (And then actually TAKE something from that and stop taking nude pictures of yourself!!!)

I love Vanessa!!! She's definitely growing into her own. It usually takes sometime to get that HM outta my mind, but i think a couple of interesting films Rollinstones cover, GQ cover and shes good to move in to the adult world lol..
She's really cute and it's a shame she's got so many haters.
What no one seems to recognize, including Miss Hudgens herself, is that there is nothing wrong with girls feeling sexy and accepting and loving their bodies. She should never have apologized being that she has nothing to apologize for. Anyone's outrage over this "scandal" is a manifestation of their own ego and fears about sex and nudity.

Why is it that when these young girls want to shed their teenage image they automatically think that being a prostitute or getting naked in a film is going to get you better roles?? All it does is gets those teenage fans you had before see you naked. If you want to be treated as an adult pick a good dramatic role so "adults" can see you as a good actress...

I agree with you diesel!! That's why i love Scarlett Johanson!! I truly hope Vanessa make all the right choices as well. cause once you send that bad image and do one little terrible film is bad to earn the public respect and admiration. Remember Showgirls starting this girl from save by the bell Elizabeth Berkley i think??? She's tried to come back, but hasn't been able to shed that image.

Golden rule: if you want to take nude shots of yourself, do it, then see it, then immediately delete it. Never send it. End of story.

I do like her as an actress. I've never seen High Musical but I went with my teens to see Bandslam and she was really good. She wasn't some bubbly Disney-fied character. It was a great movie. :-) Not at all what I thought it was going to be. I think she still takes so much heat over those pictures - it's really so old - they should get over it already.
