Mulburry Spring 2010 Fashion Week Show

Mulberry Spring Summer 2010 collection held a dreamy, childlike innocence. Inspired by Sofia Coppola's Virgin Suicides, this collection was delicate with just the right amount of roughage around the edges. The models all strutted the runway with long teased bed hair, evoking the sense of a beautiful girl too young to learn what style flatters her face best but still looking amazingly natural in her transition. Horses from carousels were on the runway and the models strolled in between them in shirts that resembled them merging together. Pale denim was a major component of the collection, in puffy shorts, jackets, jeans and a quilted handbag. The dreamy meshing of colors was the motif for simple puff-sleeved dresses, buttoned blouses, shorts and a season favorite, rompers. Paired with solid colored boleros and jackets, the silhouettes were very adolescent. Nothing was skintight and the designs possessed a tomboyish charm, with slouchy shorts and jackets. This applied even to the cute dresses with huge bows at the neck and waist.
Mulberry is also known for their accessories, which is not surprising seeing as designer Emma Hill worked on the first shoes and bags collection for Marc Jacob. Some were done in hot pink and purple while others were kept neutral in tan and black leather. One attention-snatching over-sized bag was stunning in pink leopard. I never thought I'd say this but the pink leopard print was actually the hottest part. The models wore booties with fringe touching the floor, strappy heels and matching flats. Mulberry included our furry friends in their collection, with baseball tees and raincoats that Marcus, a French bulldog, modeled. I wonder how he got that job.
The collection incorporated updates on their staples, so any hardcore Mulberry fan won't be disappointed. Alexa Chung was rumored to be at one of their five shows that day.

Oh I love love love Mulberry! This is what the hair looks like in the A/W09 ads, it looks better in the ads than on the catwalk to be honest, more fitting.
