First Look: Sandra Bullock In 'The Blind Side'

Excuse me while I wipe the tears off my cheeks. What a MOVIE!! Take a look at Sandra Bullock in 'The Blind Side' and let me know what you think.

A poor, over-sized and under-educated teenager is recruited by a major college football program where he is groomed into an athletically and academically successful NFL prospect. Based on Michael Lewis' book, "The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game.

Thanks Kodie!

Fantastic book, though I wonder how much of the actual evolution of the west coast offense, quarterbacks, and left tackle position will actually be in the movie. Probably not much. Chances are it will just be about Michael Oher and his trials and tribulations. It will still be worth a look. He's been playing really well for the Ravens this year.

When I read the summary, I thought it was a combination of The Mighty and Forrest Gump. Guess I was wrong. It seems like a great movie.

I've seen this trailer about 5 times and every time I get all teary. I can't wait to see this, but now I gotta pick up the book. I absolutely love memoirs. I just hope it doesn't go all mushy hollywood. I know it has a happy ending, which I can really appreciate it, but I'd rather it make people think than be all sappy. We shall wait and see, but I can't wait to see Sandra Bullock.

OMG, I'm weeping and smiling! I'm such a sucker for feel-good sports dramas!

Some people are saying we're racist for wanting movies like this, where the rich white woman rescues the poor black boy. I would still "want" this movie if the races were reversed, or Asian, or Mexican, or Arab, or whatever mixed in. I'm so sick of the race card! Gah!

This trailer was floating around on Apple's homepage for the past few weeks. I'll probably rent this, not because it doesn't look good enough to see in theaters, but because I don't want anyone to see me get all weepy!

I read parts of this book (the ones about Oher, not all the technical football stuff) and absolutely loved it. I really hope that this movie stays true to the original story, because this is one true story that needs no Hollywood embellishments to bring tears to even the most uptight person.

I've been waiting for this movie for awhile, but only just now saw the 2nd trailer (watch at : http://modestcomplexity.blogspot.com/2009/10/blind-side-and-three-rivers.html ) and that is getting me even more excited. I also thought it was cool that they used a snippet of the song "Kill the Messenger" by Jack's Mannequin in the trailer, because the singer also has an inspirational personal story as a cancer survivor...hope to hear more Jack's Mannequin music in the movie.
