Jon Gosselin's Attorney Responds To Allegations About Withdrawal
Okay, a TON of stuff has been printed in the back-and-forth between Kate and Jon Gosselin. Kate's attorneys filed a motion in court this morning requesting that the $230,000 be returned and Jon be held in contempt of court. Jon's attorney has issued the following statement to Entertainment Tonight:
Heller says that according to Jon's "recollection" since receiving monetary compensation from TLC for the past four and half years, "he has not withdrawn any money for his own remuneration with the exception of the past several months wherein he believes he only withdrew approximately $175,000 which is less than ten percent of the gross revenues paid the Gosselins…"
Heller deems it likely that when all of the money is accounted for, "Jon will be awarded substantial additional funds."
So all the time he and Kate were married, and they lived together off the money, doesn't count?
Meanwhile, one of Kate's attorneys claims that Jon's attorney has advised previous clients to "withdraw everything that's in the bank" so the clients could pay his legal fees.
Radar Online reports that Jon's attorney was suspended from practicing law for five years in the state of New York for "professional misconduct."
And as if all that isn't bad enough, it turns out Jon's new attorney isn't even licensed to practice law in the state of Pennsylvania. He's requesting special permission to represent Jon.
What in the world is Jon thinking? This is INSANE.

He also mentioned her million dollar proceeds from her best seller book and their 11 bank accounts. She is really good at playing the sympathy card. They are both full of it! She can pay her bills. And I am glad to see someone putting a halt to the show. It IS what is best for the whole family right now.

Yes, halting the sole income for a family of 10 with 3 homes to support with no other means in sight is shear genius...WTF???? The account he took $ from was a joint home account and not for Jon's personal use. There is a reason Kate was chosen to pay the bills. That account was to pay bills for the children and the "children's" home in PA. He broke a legally binding contract an needs to feel the consequences of his actions. More tantrums from Jon. I think someone needs to change his nappy. BTW - his attorney is scum (google his many violations) and not even licensed to practice in PA.

I don't care for either one, but I think Kate is the smart one. She's doing what she thinks is best for their 8 kids. What is Jon doing, but being gready. He's jealous that she's in control so he thinks by taking the money out he's one uped her. It don't work that way. The guy just digs himself in deeper and thinks if he can play the sympathy card everyone will join Team Jon. Forget it! No one will ever feel anything but loathing for that man! He made his bed, now he's got to lie on it. The only people I feel bad for in all this is the kids. They are what's important. Jon and Kate need to deal with this privately and shut the heck up. So this is his paycheck? I think he will find that responsible fathers use their paycheck to support their families, not pissing about with their girlfriends...what a douche bag. This is apparently the joint account to pay the family's bills, not Kate's personal account, and clearly Jon is earning his own money to support himself - so he gets to keep that and take more and Kate must use the money she has earned to support herself, to support the family? Clearly Kate must have personal expenses just as Jon has for when they are out of the family home. Jon should think himself very lucky that he gets to spend half his time in the former family home enjoying normal family life with his kids, as the huge majority of divorced Dads are not given that luxury. This man makes me so angry.

But as far as the lawyer situation. Most high profile lawyers do not maintain a license in all 50 states. The time and effort is not needed. They maintain a license in one or two major states, often New York and California, then when they have a client in another state they team with a lawyer who is licensed in that state. It happens all the time especially in corporate law.

I find it disgusting that he seems to think he has no duty to support his family, every responsible father uses their paycheck to support their family, not to mess about with their girlfriend like him. Jon is making his own money, unless he is doing all these interviews and appearances for free, which I very much doubt.

I'm by no means a money/banking person, but when I first heard about this, my first thought was why they had so much money in one account. At my bank, accounts are only FDIC insured for up to $100k. That's why my CPA told me not to put my millions of dollars in one account. Hehe, I wish! What a mess-poor kids.
I ain't even gonna waste my time by reading this post.... Why do they have to respond publicly about EVERY LAST LITTLE THING...... Could not care less about these two 'people'.. but I feel soso so so bad for the children....

And remember to tune in tomorrow for an edited repeat of last night's episode where Jon goes shopping and forgets to buy milk, suffering a momentary lapse of concentration for which - his attorney agrees - Kate is to blame.
