Michael Lohan Apologizes Publicly to Lindsay Lohan
Michael Lohan will be on E!'s "Daily 10" tonight to issue a public apology to his daughter Lindsay. Some of the words of wisdom he'll be sharing:
“Lindsay, I love you with all my heart. And I’m sorry about being so public about certain things. But when I’m with you, when I was with you, out in LA, and I looked into your eyes I didn’t see the girl I brought up or the girl that was so gifted and talented during the years of ‘The Parent Trap,’ ‘Freaky Friday,’ ‘Mean Girls.’ And I’m not going to stand here and watch my daughter get destroyed anymore.”
“I mean, it’s got to stop. Do you see the same Lindsay now that you saw when she was acting? Do you think she can act like she used to? No! There’s no way, It’s a hollow, vacant body. You hold that body – it’s a broke body, a broken spirit in side. There’s nothing there. Nothing. It killed me. It literally killed me holding her in my arms. No father wants to feel death in a kid that’s always so alive. And I’m pissed – at myself too – for letting us go through a divorce. But that’s what happens to kids when they get divorced. They suffer, not us.”
Do you think a public plea is the way to get her some help? Do you wonder if maybe they aren't on speaking terms if he has to go through the media to get a message to her? I'm just trying to really wrap my brain around this. I guess we could give him credit for not posting those "open letters" that Candy Spelling does. LOL!

I honestly can't tell whether his heart is in the right place. If it is, I hope he quits talking about it and does an intervention, if there are enough other people around who care about her and help him help her.

I don't see how doing a bunch of interviews and releasing statements is better than open letters bu whatever. Michael just want attention not help Lindsay. Trashing her in public is not going to get her help. If anything she will be more destructive. Also hasn't he been gone for most of her life(jail)?

if he really cared he wouldn't talk to the media every other day like he does now. if he actually cared about his daughter he would be trying to work with her, and not trying to get attention from her situation
I think his heart IS in the right place. SHE is NOT responding to him cuz she knows he is right. EVERYTHING he says is dead on balls accurate. He is her dad, he knows her better then she knows herself. He is ALWAYS the ONLY one calling her out on her bs. That's a FATHER. There is no guide book to parenting and I am sure ALL of you parents have had your bad moments so don't be so judgmental to a man who is just trying to save his daughters life. Her mom obviously doesn't care. What is he supposed to do? Sit back and say nothing? Thats even worse in my opinion.

"That's a father"...seriously??? From what I can tell, he is the worst excuse for a father that I've seen in a long time. And how do you know that her mother doesn't care? Just becasue she's not making as ass of herself and seizing every camera opportunity doesn't mean she doesn't care. That said, she doesn't seem to be any mother-of-the-year either. YOu ask "what is he supposed to do"...how about trying to respect his daughter's privacy and get her some help without doing every thing he can to make sure that his migis on the front page of every gossip magazine. He's pathetic.
I TOTALLY agree with you. I think this guy has some integrity. A side of me is frustrated because the girl is brilliant--but with a disgusting mother in denial and Kate Moss as a roll model, nothing will change.

They're all a bunch of scumbags, IMO. But at least he seems to be aware that she has a problem and isn't in denial like the mother who does have access to her who continues to call her misunderstood and a genius. I think the pathetic part is that going through the media may be the only way to get to her at this point - it's her lifeline to everything. She seems to want the attention, has no problem advertising her relationship issues to the world on Twitter and has made her own statements to the public via blogs or her social networking sites. That he does the same thing doesn't bother me so much as it would in a more private family.

oh man. well i guess it is good that he's not posting the open letters like candy spelling...but still! it does sound like he wants to help her but he's probably lost of where to start as well. i mean, he's not the best candidate to help others. but hopefully they find a way to help her.

Because of his crave for attention he end up loosing what should of matter the most, and that's his relationship with his daughter. He was always wrong to begin with talking to the media about Lindsay's personal life the way his done in the past. This would only be the result of what he himself have created, which is a bad relationship between him and Lindsay. He might want to help this time, but it might be too late for that. Trying to reach out to her thru the media might not be the smartest thing to do. Unfortunately divorce happens all the time and i'm sure that this was hurtful for her as it is to every child that watch their parents go thru it, but i'm afraid that's not the reason why she's so messed up and lost. They should help themselves be better individuals before trying to help their daughter.
I'm sure he tried to contact her personally and got him nowhere. it's kinda hard to do an intervention when her own mother is in complete denial and her sister Allie isn't helping the situation either. she's riding her coattails because of her name so hopefully one day she will become famous. Lindsay has no friends and I'm sure she lost a lot of fans because of her lifestyle - everybody pretty much gave up on her. she really needs to hit rock bottom....hiring her as a fashion advisor was the biggest mistake....she has absolutely no qualification in that position. they're using her because she's the queen of the tabloids and they knew they will get a lot of press (good or bad)...they don't care about her health.
