Kristen Stewart Doesn't Want To Be Like Angelina Jolie
Okay, I get it. 'Twilight' star Kristen Stewart isn't into the whole "celebrity fame" thing. She makes her point again to Black Book magazine.
"I don't want to be a movie star like Angelina Jolie. Nothing about being a celebrity is desirable. I'm an actor. It's bizarre to me that everybody's so obsessive."
I'm surprised she's pointing a finger at Angelina Jolie. Say what you will about her personal life and her behavior, but does anyone question Angelina's abilities as an actress? She has won an Academy Award!
Kristen compares fame to 'Twilight' character Edward Cullen's experience as a vampire.
"Edward is actually a really good parallel to fame. As a vampire, he has a sad, desolate life—fame is the same."
Hmmm. I've never heard anyone describe fame like that! It sounds like Kristen is working really hard to stay grounded.

I don't think she calls Angelina a bad actor. I think she's talking about the huge amount of "Brangelina" in the press these days. Kristen probably just wants to do her job and live a life as normal as possible. Being an actor without all the fuss.

Exactly. Why does having a high-profile job mean your life has to be high-profile, too? Don't get me wrong, I love coming to this site, but there are plenty of actors who don't go parading their lives in front of the cameras, and those are the ones I respect.

ditto. i feel terrible for actors who just want to act- the amount of personal freedom they have to give up is appalling. it seems like it's pretty difficult these days to be a successful actor/musician without basically having to sell yourself.

She looks good in these pictures, refreshed. The hair needs a little help but she looks good when she smiles. She should smile more. I like her, I don't think she's a great actress but she has a lot of potential to become great. She's still really young and if she focuses on acting, not on living the celebrity life, she will do really well.

I get what she's saying....angelina is FAKE and a manipulator and she's selling her image....she's so phony in all of her interviews and I can't believe some people are falling for it (including you vera). Kristie is being herself and she speaks her mind and doesn't gives a hoot what people think of her.
its not as if it is impossible to be an actor and stay anonymous! she could stick to indy films, or she could become a stage actress (though she is not talented enough). In reality most major movie stars are successful because of the way they look and their persona, not their talent. I think she is just resentful that she falls into that category - I have seen her acting and its horrid.

I get what she is saying too. Kudos for trying to have some modicum of a private life. At least she is not parading herself at every club, bar or movie opening in town. For being only 19, I think she is pretty grounded.

If Kristen wants to be an actress only, and not a celebrity, she should have chosen stage acting. I know several stage actors...nobody bothers them when they go out. This girl knew what she was getting into to, she's obviously not dumb.

Why would you agree to do a movie like Twilight if you didn't want everyone to know who you are? When she was doing smaller market movies only a handful of people knew who she was. Or better yet go do Broadway. Outside of NY an even smaller group of people know Broadway stars. Good luck to her anyway.
I don't think she is criticizing Angelina Jolie I think she just don't want to be under the microscope like Brangelina. I think she is a private person and her interviews are often taken out of context and that is unfair.
