Quote Of The Day: Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus doesn't want to be idolized figure whom kids want to be like. She wants to be a "role model" whom kids look up to.
"If you look at me as a role model I agree with it. If you look at me as an idol, I don't agree.
"An idol for me is someone that you want to replicate. You want to be them.
"I don't wish that on anyone, to lose what they have personally, because that’s when your spark goes."
I think it's great that Miley's warning kids to be themselves, not copycats!

Very true. I use to not care too much for Miley. I took my daughter to her concert and I was very impressed with her energy and dedication.

Blah Blah Blah, go talk to your lil sis & tell her to be a little girls & not try to be a grown person.
yea, vera, and it's also great that she wants to be a role model. yea, model yourself after the way she dresses? behaves? what she says? sorry, but I fail to see anything that people (let alone young girls) should model themselves after. what a twit.

WTF is she wearing??!!

I think it's from the SATC movie...

really?? That's just all kinds of WRONG!

Says the molded Disney character.

That's actually a very mature statement but hard to take seriously from Miley. The outfit was for filming "Sex and the City".

A role model is someone you want to be like, someone you respect and admire. An idol is something or someone you idolize and worship.

Yeah, thats what I thought, she seems a little confused.

One or six of her choices thus far indicate that she has no business trying to be anyone's role model OR idol. Just be what you are, Miley, a celebrity teenager with more money than you should have. And two parents who seem to give you few boundaries to work within.

LOL! Totally!

I think anyone that looks at her as a role model needs some serious help. If I had kids, I certainly wouldn't want them looking like her, dressing like her, acting like her... From my persepctive, she is a bad influence. That's great that she has a lot of energy and dedication, but so do several other stars who don't dress like two-bit hookers when they were/are a teenager.
Can we have a Miley ban? I am soooo sick of this twit.
she should drop her stylists now, she looks completely out of her element. this is the ugliest collar I have ever seen btw.

Yes, I always looked up to pole dancing chicks as child *rolls eyes*

well she needs to make sure her little sister is learning not to be like her because for halloween it sure did look like she wanted to follow her footsteps. either way, that's good she's telling kids to be themselves and not be like their idols.
17525 points
Yeah, I still have that mental picture of her little sister's "costume" in my mind. Gross.

Ha, no. After seeing Party In The USA video for the first time last night I have to disagree. She is not a good role model and she shouldn't think of herself that way.

Hey role model, GET OFF THE POLE!
30585 points
Ha ha good one.
3455 points
didn't she get voted 2009 WORST CHILDREN"S ROLE MODEL?
20115 points
haha did you see the most recent picture of her from tour??? her shorts BARELY covered her butt, and they were completely riding up! yeah, you're a terrific role model miley. you show those pre-teens how to dress/act

She's an idiot. Makes much more sense vice versa.

She is in no way a good role model. Just look at her little sister!!!!!

if I had a 16yr old daughter who looked to her as a 'role model' i would be seriously concerned. Sorry but I think she is just horrible.
128110 points
Yup, yup.

just because you're a celebrity doesn't mean you should be a role model. in fact, most aren't- and miley DEFINTELY falls into the "not a role model" category.
51520 points
Not a role model at all.
