Chris Brown Has To Share His Side... Again

Never mind that Chris Brown had his chance to speak on 'Larry King Live' and with his infamous tweets: now that Rihanna is talking, he has to continue explaining his side in an MTV interview that will air on MTV on the same day that Rihanna's interview with Diane Sawyer concludes on '20/20.'
"I know my love me and support me [sic]. But there are people that don't want to see me do anything ... they wanna see me kind of, basically, in jail."
Chris explained his thought process to MTV.
"My thoughts [when I look back on it now] is like, 'Why did it happen?' " he told MTV News correspondent Sway...
"It's like, 'How do we get past it? How do you, Chris' — talking to myself — 'how do you go from point A to point B? How do you learn from your mistakes, turn it into a positive and help other people with the situation, and at the end of the day become the person that you want to be?' "
You know what the problem with all of this is? Chris seems waaaay more eager to "get past it" than anything else, with all the pictures of him partying, flirting with women (despite his professed ongoing love for Rihanna), and airing a dueling interview opposite Rihanna's interview.
It just all looks a lot like damage control and image rehabilitation rather than true contriteness.

"It just all looks a lot like damage control and image rehabilitation rather than true contriteness." That's why people won't get past it. Chris seems so fake "apologizing" and telling his side. He probably would be better off saying Rihanna deserved the attack and has no regrets. At least that would be honest.

I agree. That Larry King Live interview he did sealed the deal for me. He had the perfect platform to show how truly and sincerely sorry he was and all he did was skirt around the issue and never man up and take responsibility for what he did but rather blame it on "being young"-PLEASE...

He's had his say, now he needs to be quiet and let her have hers or they could both just STFU and be done with it.

agree! ... he had his time to talk now let her have hers
Rihanna's motive for speaking out now is crap. She should have just left that part out of the interview. She's speaking out now because her album drops in a few weeks and she wants to boost her sales. She shouldn't say she's doing this for young girls.....it's misleading.

I want to give her the benefit of the doubt. When you have an album "drop" you have to do press. It is a given that as part of the press tour she will be asked about it.
What's misleading to young girls is that now both she and Chris Brown are better known for domestic abuse than for their music.
Vera,
You're absolutely right...he's being contrite...his motives are not geniune. I bet in a few months...everyone will be talking about the next incident he's gotten himself into. This problem (abuser) is like alcoholism...its an ongoing process to get rehabilitated...

Agree. The solution is to go threw the problem not around it.
Wouldn't you have to say the same about her? Being so concerned with young girls that she spent this time partying being connected to numerous men. He needs to be quit and go away but she isnt Miss I care for young girls either.

She is still young, and should be out dating other men and having a good time. Did you expect her to stay home and hide, or join a convent because she got beat up? She went on with her life without the trash that was in it. Good for her.
Exactly Audrey,, I agree with you

Well written Audrey. She did not intend to have this done to her and has no fault whatsoever in the whole thing so ppl should just back off...

He's full of manuer.
im so sick of seeing this on this site. i come here because its usually unbiased and a fun site but it seems like the writers dont want to let chris move on from it. yes it was wrong and hes apologized and i agree that he should stop talking about it, but he is young and is going to go on living his life. rihanna has been out partying, wearing crazy outfits, and has been linked to numerous men but yet she is perfectly okay to do so? and she is choosing to talk about it a week or two before her album comes out? publicity stunt much? again, no one knows what happened that night between them. and there are so many other celebs that clearly have problems and arent getting help for them that are worshiped on this site. what happened to giving someone a chance to learn from their mistakes and giving them a second chance. annoying.

I agree with you. We don't know what happened that night. I think that Chris does not know how to apologize for what he did, which is why he keeps beating around the bush, sounding insincere. I do believe he is sorry--he has said he still loves Rihanna--he is sorry. I just find it annoying how this site is constantly picking on Chris. No one is perfect. So, he has anger issues. But it does not help the situation at all to continue to attack him. What's happened has happened, and I think we need to all move on. It was Rihanna's choice not to talk while Chris did, and Chris does not have to keep silent while she talks. People will still hear Rihanna. And yeah, why is it that when Chris goes out and parties..."oh! How can he do that? He should show some respect to Rihanna!" What do you want him to do...just stay in his room all day and wallow in regret? How you get past something is by coming to acceptance then forgiving yourself.

Well we saw the picture of her swollen and bruised, so we kind of do. NOTHING she could have said or done would have warranted that. I don't know why people keep defending this lowlife.

if he really wanted to speak and apologize AGAIN, he should've done it for the next day or week after she spoke. it just doesnt make sense why he would want to take some of that attention.
also, i think she would sound more genuine if there was nothing to promote. it would've been nice if she just came to speak out to help women.

Yeah, I agree. Everyone is saying she's only doing it now to help promote her upcoming cd, which is sad if it is true. :(

Tired of him

i'm sorry but i have no interest in his side of the story. he did the beating, he's the one who caused physical pain, in my book he's done. i used to like his music but i will not support him again

"How do we get past it?", well Chris, let me suggest one thing, shut the hell up about it then!!!!! Rihanna that goes for you too. I'm not belittling what he did, but come on already.

barbara walters actually interviewed him? what? why on earth???
I agree. her decision to discuss this now is a publicity stunt for her new album. If she really wanted to set an example then she should have spoken up when it mattered the most. If she really wanted to set an example, then why make a song called "Russian Roulette"? Feeling suicidal? I hope not. And I am not taking sides with chris, but the court reports do state that Rihanna was also physically abusive towards Chris. So Rihanna should tell the WHOLE story if she is truly remorseful. In addition, right after the incident with Chris she was linked to SEVERAL men. I don't know what happened to her. It just seemed like her self esteem dropped and she was in a new relationship every week. Why? I hope Rihanna finds her way
