Anyone a fan of Miley Cyrus' 'Party in the USA'? Well, I hope you don't expect the singer to have some sort of connection to the tune because ... she doesn't. In fact, the only reason why she even chose the song for her album was because she needed something to go with her clothing line.
Skip ahead to 2:51 and listen to how Miley says she never heard a Jay Z song, she can't believe 'Party in the USA' is so popular, and how that sort of music isn't really her style.

That's the only line I can remember from the entire song that plays over & over & over on the radio & she doesn't even know a JayZ song. Whatever Miley. The Dude is huge and his lyrics are way better than hers that's why she don't know who he is...LoL
I have never heard a JayZ song to my knowledge. So whats the big deal. Lots of artist doesn't research their song, they just sing them. Another mountain out of a mole hill. Trying to bring her down like Britney.

If she's old enough to pose in her panties she's old enough to have heard a Jay Z song. It's not like he's some underground artist.
I don't think i've heard maby jay-z songs after the 90's, other than featurings.. Miley is young, i get it, but it's kind of silly to sing about another artist and diss them at an interview. Other times she seems sweet, other times arrogant and ignorant. Well she's just a kid in the big business..

Um, so everyone here has heard every kind of music that everyone else thinks they should have heard? I haven't heard any Jay-Z. I've heard pop, oldies, jazz, classical, broadway and rock. She's a performer and she performs her song well. It's one freakin' name that was inserted. So what if she doesn't listen to Jay-Z.

I don't think its so much about everyone being exposed to every kind of music, clearly that would be silly. However, I find it hard to believe that she never watched MTV and seen a video of his. Even Beyonce was in his videos and vice versa. I'm sorry, I just have a hard time believing it.

Im not a fan of Jay-Z either. but If I'm going to be singing a song that says "And the Jay-Z song was on" T.H.R.E.E effing times then I might research a bit to find out who he is or just change the name of the artist to someone I DO like. but thats only smart thinking.
