Ashley Olsen Talks Celebrity Designers
Ashley Olsen has launched a successful clothing collection with her twin sister Mary Kate Olsen. Although technically they were celebrities before they became designers, Ashley claims that she and Mary Kate are completely different than all other celebrity designers. I have to say that is true; they are in their own category and have respectable reputations in the fashion industry.
A lot of celebrities get involved because they want to slap their name on it and it will add to their brand. And for us, it was totally different. That wasn't my point. For me, when I look at it as a celebrity brand, it's almost silly to me, because I'm not coming at it from a celebrity standpoint.
What is your opinion on celebrities entering in to the fashion industry? Do you think Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen did a good job on their clothing collections?

I think celebrities are getting out of hand with trying to be fashion designers, or singers, or what have you. There are very few however, like the olsen twins, that are taken serious in the fashion industry. I've seen them have runway shows and have celebrities actually wear their line on the red carpet, good for them.

It seems like the Olsens put a lot of time and effort into their lines unlike some of the others that have come and gone. Good for them!
