Birthday Weekend

Birthday Weekend

My husband and I share a birthday - and it's coming up next week. So, this weekend is all about seeing the parents. Yesterday, we went to the in-laws for dinner and I completely took it easy. My mother in law cooked a great meal and I didn't have to worry about a thing. Natalie is still coughing like a smoker. We are calling the doctor for the third time today as nothing seems to be slowing down. Whenever she moved, she would start exploding. It was terrible.

Today, my mother and grandmother and hosting lunch for my family. A few cousins and my aunt are all coming over and we are going to do it all over again.

Good times. And these people are close enough that I could kind of veg out and not have to explain myself. All good.

Re: migraines
I was talking to a friend of mine who is very sensitive to headaches and she says the weather is a tremendous factor for her. This was a very rainy year, perhaps that's why I'm all out of wack? Can't wait for tomorrow - that's my doc appt with specialist.

And just to show you how serious I am about slowing things down - I turned down interviewing Sandra Lee, interviewing Tory Burch, and attending this AMAZING one on one conference with all major brands and mommy bloggers that would have completely put INO Mommy on the MAP. But I knew that if I went in that many times this week, I would die. On Thrusday and Friday, I have two things I am attending and couldn't handle Mon, Tues, and Wed too. I am kind of upset though! I really would have like to have met Sandra and Tory!

Next time...

You should consider trying accupuncture Vera, it works very well and you don't have to take any drugs!

Lots of sleep will cure anything.

Changes in air pressure- barometric pressure can trigger migraines and hormones. Ask your doctor about Midrin- I have taken it for 20 yrs.- It is a class C drug- You can still take care of your kids and not feel wacky- just a little sleepy. I hate how migraines make you shut down- but stress is also a trigger. You can take Midrin when you know you will be stressed and prevent them.

Hope your headaches go away. Sometimes smell trigger the migranes or even an hunger headache can manifest into a migrane or maybe its heredity & hormonal. Just stay away from strong scents (musky scents) if you use perfurme and see if it makes a differency.

Hi, I've been getting migraines since I was 11/12 years old (I'm 26 now) i had all sorts of tests done and the doctors found nothing, I got some tablets prescribed to me but all they did was made me 7kgs (over a stone) heavier lol, however last year my hubby noticed that I get them a week or a few days before hmm...my time of the month... also if i'm really stressed, dehydrated; stuck in a stuffy place or bad weather could be the reasons.
But you know how u can feel when the migraine is coming...take 1 or 2 aspirins or any other painkillers and it might help. It works for me most of the time. had the worst migraine last night actually, woke up at 2 a.m. thought I was dying, i thought my head was going to explode, had to wake my husband - I was so scared, he got me an aspirin and a glass of water, it took me few hours to go back to sleep but when I woke up - migraine was gone. hope this helps
