'Twilight' Author Stephenie Meyer Will Be On 'Oprah'

It's about time! I know 'Twilight' probably wouldn't make the list for Oprah's Book Club, but the series is so popular, it seems only fitting that Stephenie Meyer should appear on 'Oprah'! And now she will, according to a message she posted on her website.
You know I've been doing the hermit thing this last year, in so far as media is concerned, and I'm not changing that now, but I am making an exception. I'm doing this for a good reason: I am so pleased and amazed and thrilled with what Chris Weitz has done with New Moon that I want to talk about it, and to show my support for him. And since I'm only doing one interview, better make it big. Really big. So....I will be on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday, November 13th.
That's this Friday! Are you 'Twilight' fans excited?

I wonder why she doesnt really go on book tours.

She did - a LOT! lol She doesn't have any new books out right now, so that's probably why she's currently not doing them but she toured and toured and toured with the other books. :)

Oh wow. I'm assuming this is the first time for her?

I'd never seen her before, but she looks exactly how I expected her to look after reading the Twilight books. Exactly. And yes, I did read them. And I'm a dude. I had to go to a hearing regarding my Man Card, but it came out okay.

haha! You're okay, Manimal. I know a surprising number of guys who've read the books, even guys whose wives/girlfriends didn't. Now my husband isn't one of them, so he'd probably call you some offensive name, but I would stick up for you. ;)

My brother recommended the series to me and he's 28 years old! lol
and she's a writer? What a horribly worded statement!

you should read her books. :(
You can be a storyteller and not be good at grammar. I am not good at spelling and I can say big words!

LOL!

i agree, but when you get paid as much as she does i think you should proooooobably be able to do both. but i guess she proves your point.

I'm definitely not a Twilight fan but I'm pretty surprised she's doing this - but what she said in her quote makes sense.

not a twilight fan but good for her.
Yeah this is the only series where i consider the movies (or at least the 1.) to be better than the books. Like always, there are parts that have been cut (that annoys many i know), but for once i thought those parts weren't that relevant, or interesting. Plus, her language is so poor, or if not exactly that, still kind of amatourish, and to me it felt like reading a book for children / young teen-agers. (Maybe that was the target group, but i'm surprised to have noticed how many of my friends have enjoyed them and haven't gotten annoyed with the story telling.) The movies aren't that great either, but i'm a sicker for anything sci-fi / supernatural etc, so i think i'll be watching the following parts as well. So as for the post: nooooot that interested in seeing her on Oprah.
* teenager
*sucker, not sicker
(i never claimed to be a writer :D )

Ugh - I'm a fan of Twilight, but Like Sweet Kiddo, I'm tired of hearing her dream that God gave her. (She's Mormon - it just seems weird for a good Mormon like her to have a dream about occult vampires...)

I'm so sick of hearing bout Twilight.
