Got Back From Doctor - Things Are Looking Good

Ok - LONG story short I have 4 tests coming up next week that are finally going to address all the issues I've been having lately. AND I AM SO EXCITED.

I went in to talk about the migraines but ended up also bringing up my motion sickness and memory loss. Let me explain -

I have CRAZY motion sickness... like ridiculous. When I SLOW DANCE I get dizzy. Yes, I am dead serious. We laugh about it - but it's really crazy how anything sets me off. She said we can fix it with balance therapy but need to take a test first. Easy and now on the calendar.

Then through our questionnaire she discovered that I forget basic words on a day to day basis. For example, I will want to say "Natalie, sit on the chair" but will say "Natalie, sit on the.... on the ... on the.... CHAIR. Sit on the chair."

It's like I get caught up on the basic word and actually have to find it in my head before I say it. She asked how many times a month it happens and I laughed because it happens multiple times a DAY not a month. Two more tests. One is verbal and one is with my brain waves. Going to get my brain hooked up to some sort of machine with wires. Three people in my family have suffered with Dementia - so if it's going to happen, I rather catch it early and try to combat it.

MRI - scheduled for next week as well.

I'm so not worried - I am HAPPY that everything is finally going to get looked at! These three things have been plaguing me for AGES.

Will keep you posted.

Also walked away with a load of medicine ranging from the heavy stuff to vitamins. She wants me to STOP with the over the counter stuff because she thinks I was taking way too much of it. And I was. Looking at some notes - I was up to 18 pills a week. YIKES!

That is so awesome that you're finally getting some help. What a wonderful doctor to also pull out these other issues. Hopefully they're related and you'll get some relief. Its also great that you're getting the "real" medicine to help you out. There are so many drugs out there that can help instantly so you can no longer have to ride out the pain but stop it when you feel it coming on. Congrats!

I was wondering how your appt went. I know what you mean about not being worried... I've had major hormone & thyroid issues for about 8 years (crazy symptoms that I won't go into!) and it's good to be on the road to figuring it out, no matter what it is! Once you know, you can treat it! Keep us posted and we'll keep you in our thoughts & prayers.

I used to suffer from migrane headaches on a weekly basis. It was bad. Anyway, I changed my diet and cut out all animal products ( I can still eat fish and eggs occasionally) and the headaches are gone. I'm not having to take any meds. If you want more info - I'm happy to pass it along.

Glad you are getting things checked out. It's always better to know what you are dealing with.

I'm glad you're getting the tests you need.

Over the summer, I had the test with the wires attached to my head. It's strange and a little uncomfortable, but not terrible. Over within a hour.

The other stuff I don't really know about, but I'm sure you're going to be fine! Good luck! Happy birthday!

Have you checked a fungal connection i.e. yeast (breads & added to lots of processed foods), alcohol, sugar, fermented products (vinegars, tempeh) as triggers? If those things also make you bloat, it may be connected. Just a thought... Hormones also make it worse especially progesterone which is high during pregnancy. I wish you well and hope you get answers and a solution pronto.
