Oprah Leaves Guests Empty-Handed

Oprah Leaves Guests Empty-Handed

Audience members of the The Oprah Show will have a little less to cheer about this holiday season! It's been announced that the famous "Favorite Things" episode will not happen this year.

Her production company has confirmed it:

We have no plans this season for a 'Favorite Things.'"

Last year, Oprah did a budget-conscious version in light of the recession. So, instead of repeating that theme this year, she's decided to scrap it completely.

I think I'm more upset that I won't get to watch those HYSTERICAL videos of the audience members losing their minds when they find out they are the lucky ones attending the taping of "The" episode.

What do you think about it? Do you care one way or the other? Will you miss watching this particular episode?

I kept thinking ONE DAY , I WOULD BE SOOOOOO LUCKY and receive that golden ticket for the "favorite things show " or even be one of her guest( wishful thinking). I wonder what does she got up her sleeve for such an announcement.

I never understood why people get so excited for these shows. I definately would be very happy to get $7,500-$10,000 worth of free stuff but I wouldn't drop to my knees, pray to God, and cry hysterically over it. Then again if I was there I may think differently. I can't imagine the hysteria from the giveaways of Oprah's last few shows.

To me it always seemed like too much to give away. How much stuff, really does one person need? With the economy the way it is these days it is really difficult to get excited about over priced items that everyone probably sold on EBay the minute they got them.

I love Oprah, but,,,,,,,

I don't understand why she can't do the show. She ain't broke. Of all the years to do a show like this, wouldn't it be more appropriate now. To help others, who are going through a difficult time?

Maybe she's just saying that so people will get a surprise lol.

I used to like watching those episodes to get some ideas for my hard-to-buy-for friends but when every one of her SPONSORED gifts just became ridiculously expensive, I lost all interest. She USED to have good ideas for gifts in all price ranges - then it just became a game of which sponsor could outdo the other. She never paid a red cent for ANY of the giveaway gifts. I won't miss her show at all. Good riddance.
