New Brand: Charles & Victoria
POSTED BY melissavest, Aug 29, 2008 AT 05:16 pm
Are you someone who likes to know what the newest and hottest brands are? I know I am! So I was super excited to hear about Charles and Victoria, which is set to open boutiques in select cities. (New York, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Washington, DC, and Online) It's a brand by designers Rachel Ancliffe and Abby Lutz:
“We wanted to create a line that looked beautiful on a size 0 and a size 14. We believe that we have achieved this by the melding of traditional tailored details with beautifully draped flowing pieces.” states Ancliffe. Lutz adds, “Because of our background in construction and fine arts we believe it is not just what you design but the quality of the materials and the craft of each piece that make it beautiful.”
That sounds like an awesome proposition to me! I can't wait to see the items in person, and I plan on making a trip to the nearest boutique this fall. I really love the skirts and pants, it's hard to find such awesome styling. Take a look at their website, and let me know what you think about their new line. Their pricing is higher, but I think that a couple of pieces would be the basis of a great wardrobe!
1- 40s Dress in Ombre Melton for $598
2- Tuxedo Pant in Black for $425
3- Corset Skirt in Army Melton for $398

Fashion Finds: Grey Shoes
POSTED BY melissavest, Aug 29, 2008 AT 05:03 pm
Looking for the grey shoes in the Fall Style Post? The fun grey short boots are from none other than Hush Puppies, yea I know that's pretty unbelievable in my book. However, they actually have some tres chic options, and I bet they're as comfortable as can be! They come in grey and brown, and retail for $110 which is a great price for a fall/winter boot. Oh yea, they're "Worry Free Suede" too, so I bet that they're super easy to keep nice.
If you like the grey polka dot heels, you can find them at JCrew.com. They're a little more pricey, but since they're so unique they'd be a great addition to any wardrobe. They also come in various patterns (I like the black and white ones too!), and retail for $248.
What's Your Fall Style?
POSTED BY melissavest, Aug 26, 2008 AT 12:59 pm
I'm just curious, what's your fall style? Do you prefer fitted pencil skirts and wrap sweaters, paired with a stacked heel, to complete a very pulled together and chic style? Or do you like to throw on a pair of flared trousers, a chunky sweater, and some boots to carry you through the season? Share your favorite fall fashions, your inspirations....
I adore both of these outfits for the fall. I would love to entertain the idea of going to the office every day in the first outfit, but I just don't know I am always up for that. So, I'll keep some more casual clothes in my closet too. One thing I know for sure is that I'm going to invest in some opaque tights from We Love Colors. They have every color under the sun, and I think it's the cutest way to add a pop of color in the fall. Plus they come in an array of sizes too. That means they're perfect for everyone!
Black and Blue

I've always thought that black and blue together was somewhat of a fashion sin, but I truly think that fashion rules are meant to be broken. (Especially if they can look this chic!) I really love this combo of a steel colored blue, with black. It's quite sophisticated, and since this dress is only $29.80 you can afford to get some great accessories to go with it.
1- Vermeil Earrings by Banana Republic for $34
2- Dotted Chiffon Dress by Forever 21 for $29.80
3- Just a Glimpse Shades at Anthropologie for $38
4- Becca Flats by J Crew for $140
5- Max Azria Bag at Bag Borrow or Steal $26/week and $75/month for Members ($44/week and $104/month for Guests)
How Do You Feel About Uggs?
POSTED BY melissavest, Aug 25, 2008 AT 04:56 pm
Let's hear your official opinions on Uggs? Do you love to hate them, or are you a convert to their super comfy style?
I happen to own a couple of pairs, and I love to pair them with jeans in the fall and winter to get around town in. I know I know, they're not neccessarily the prettiest things on the planet (However, they ARE soft!). I was recently taking a look at their site and I was happy to see some quite stylish pairs that have been added. I'm a big fan of some of their new boots and love the tweed flats. This way I can have the comfiness, with perhaps just a little more style!
1- Classic Tall Boot for $160
2- Gerty Flat for $120
3- Caroline Boot for $295
4- Thelma Flat for $120
5- Felicity Boot for $300
