The Colorblock Trend Done Right!

On trend radars for the season are color block dresses, and whether they be brightly colored or more subtle, this trend is everywhere. While many designers have taken it to the extreme, mixing neon pinks and greens or blacks and yellows (very bee-esq), surprisingly the retailer that hits the mark with this trend is none other than Forever 21.
This charcoal and black tank dress retails for just $19.80, and has fine details reminiscent of Diane Von Furstenberg pieces. The best part about this dress? The draping pockets make it super flattering. Worn with boots or flip flops, this dress will stay in your wardrobe for years to come. Get it at www.forever21.com.

Yes, The Perfect Tee

Now this is a bold statement, but this grey tri-blend tee from American Apparel is by far my favorite tee of all time. Made of a wonderful blend of cotton, rayon and polyester (yes, polyester), this tee surpasses any tee I have ever owned – included but not limited to James Perse, Splendid, and eek, even Velvet.
This super soft tee goes with almost anything and looks fab with a scarf a la Jessica Alba or with layers of necklaces – really, truly, it is a staple that will never fail you. And at just $18 dollars, make sure you buy them in bulk!

Paris Hilton Wears Zissou & Spike

Dog lover Paris Hilton recently wore Zissou & Spike’s long sleeve brown ‘Diamonds and a Dog are a Girl’s Best Friend’ t-shirt while traveling through LAX with new-beau Benji Madden. Zissou & Spike is a dog lover’s brand as the luxe t-shirt and track suit line donates annually to the Best Friend’s Animal Society. The stylized pieces in luxe cotton and French terry are favorites among Katherine Heigl, Jaime Pressly, Tori Spelling and Amy Smart. Paris actually also owns one of the ‘Kiss Your Dog Daily’ tanks as well!

The Best Trend Yet- Target GO International Collections

j-h-pic-1.jpg
When I first heard about the Target GO international collections I must admit I was a bit skeptical. Designer-esq clothes at Target? How can this be? While I have always been an avid fan of the go to superstore for my basics like toothpaste, picture frames and everything else under the sun, I never considered it some sort of fashion mecca.
This all changed when I began to see the likes of Chris Robinson, Proenza Schuler and Erin Fetherston designing clothes for the mega chain. While the pieces featured in the collection are not made of silks and cashmere, the super affordable prices helped me overlook this in a quick minute! Most exciting is the latest GO collection, featuring the likes of Jovovich-Hawk, the cult brand that mixes the ethereal with bold prints in order to dress the modern day hippy.
Released on March 2, this is the most substantial and awe-inspiring collection by far. While the label’s own dresses go for around $800 (way out of my price range, even at 50% off), look alike dresses fill the GO collection at under $50 dollars! Adorable polka dot and star bikini’s go for $16.99 a piece and vests, super soft tees, ruffled shorts and chiffon-like tops round out the gorgeous collection. While I dragged my sleepy (and grumpy) boyfriend with me the morning the collection was released, all you have to do is click on Target to get your favorite pieces- and who doesn’t love opening a present in the mail (even if it’s from yourself).
FYI, the bikinis run a little small, so go a size up, and the baby-doll dresses run a little big, so go a size down. Pretty much everything else runs true to size.

Old Navy Steps It Up

I’ve gotta say, Old Navy has really stepped it up this season. I’m sure the new addition of Todd Oldham as creative director has a lot to do with it! The new collection is on trend, flattering and best of all, an absolute steal!
One of my favorite in the new safari, ethnic and tribal extravaganza that is the spring collection? These gorgeous canvas sandals that look like they cost at the very least, hundreds of dollars. These babies boost 4 ½ inch heels and for the animal lover in you – are made of faux leather.
Find them (at only $34.50!!) at Old Navy.
