Yesterday was quite a day: comedian Bill Cosby was formally charged with sexual assault in Pennsylvania and released on a $1 million bond. Beverly Johnson, one of the women he’s suing for defamation, responded as well as others in Hollywood.
Bill Cosby is NOT going down without a fight. He appeared in a Pennsylvania court yesterday, where he was arraigned on sexual assault charges stemming from a 2004 incident. The judge set his bail at $1 million, which he posted after having his mug shot taken. He had to surrender his passport to the prosecutor in court.
Things are getting worse for Bill Cosby. The Pennsylvania District Attorney has just announced that Bill will be charged with “aggravated indecent assault” in connection with the 2004 case that he settled. He is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon. Until now, the lawsuits have all been civil suits since the statue of limitations had been exceeded for most of the accusers; a criminal case, of course, is much more serious.
Bill Cosby is continuing his “scorched earth” strategy: in addition to suing seven of the women who’ve accused him of sexually assaulting them for defamation, he’s now also suing Beverly Johnson over her claims that he sexually assaulted her. Meanwhile, a new accuser is suing Bill over allegations that he sexually assaulted her.
Oh my goodness. Now this would be a high profile claim. A rumor started yesterday that Sofia Vergara might be one of Bill Cosby’s alleged sexual assault victims. How did the ‘Modern Family’ star respond to the rumor?
