Hilary Duff Visits ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ (Video)

Hilary Duff was a proud new mama when she sat down with Ellen DeGeneres for a show. She shared a picture of Luca and was very encouraging to the expectant moms in the show.

Hilary said Luca is still sleeping through the night (11 pm – 6 am). She should enjoy that for as long as it lasts- LOL. I can’t believe Hilary was in labor for three hours before waking up her husband to take her to the hospital. Very considerate of her! You can see Hilary on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ today. Check your local listings for showtime.

Hilary Duff & Mike Comrie, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley & Stacy Keibler Attend Coldplay Concert

Coldplay has their fans in Hollywood! New parents Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie got an evening out to enjoy their LA concert. It’s good that they’re able to enjoy some couple time.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looked great in her bright red skinny jeans, while Stacy Keibler limited color to her purse. Love her hat! No sign of George Clooney, unfortunately.

Hilary Duff Runs Some Errands

The paparazzi kept Hilary Duff company after she left her pilates class and ran some errands. The new mom didn’t seem to appreciate the company, I must say ;).

Hilary was probably trying to get a few things done, quickly, while she still had childcare. That’s what you have to do when you have a baby! The photogs were probably slowing her down.

Hilary Duff Works Out

Hilary Duff is one dedicated new mama! Honestly I keep seeing this woman heading to her regular Pilates class and I have to applaud her dedication.

The new mom certainly looks fabulous but she recently revealed that she found the fatigue one of the hardest part of having a newborn;

“The first week I was like, ‘I’m doing this, I’m good. I can not sleep, I can do this.’ I don’t know where you get that energy from. Then it hits you — the fatigue.”

I can totally relate to that! Maybe if she gave herself a bit of a break about getting back into shape and got some extra sleep she might be a bit more rested!

What Surprised Hilary Duff The Most About Motherhood?

I know some of you may read this and roll your eyes, but I applaud new mom Hilary Duff for admitting this one. What does she find the most surprising (and difficult) about being a new mother?

“The first week I was like, ‘I’m doing this, I’m good. I can not sleep, I can do this.’ I don’t know where you get that energy from. Then it hits you — the fatigue.”

Of course, I’m sure Hilary knew, like we all know, that newborns are challenging because they don’t sleep through the night (or for any long stretch of time, for that matter). But it’s one thing to know it and another to actually go through it!

“So many people were like, ‘Take naps when your baby naps. So I tried and it really helped a lot. I thought when he was napping that was the time I could do all the things I needed to do. It’s a fine balance.”

Hilary says things are improving with five-week-old Luca.

“He’s really a good baby, I promise. He sleeps really well and he’s on a good schedule. He sleeps a good five and six hours a night, which is just amazing. I am so grateful.”

I’m surprised: isn’t that rather young to sleep for so many hours straight? Well, as long as Luca is healthy, Hilary should enjoy it! For those of you who have kids, how long was it before your little ones began to sleep for five to six hours straight?

Hilary Duff Stops By The Hair Salon

New mom Hilary Duff was spotted pampering herself a little with a trip to the Nine Zero One hair salon. Good for her! As a new mom, it’s easy to forget to take care of yourself.

Hilary’s hairdresser did a good job- doesn’t her hair look great? Most new moms lose some hair, but if that’s the case with Hilary, it isn’t affecting her any! Love the kitten heels with her rolled up jeans, too. Hilary is looking good.

Hilary Duff Opens Up About Motherhood

Hilary Duff is opening up about her new life as a mother in the new issue of Parade Magazine. The celebrity mom and actress tells the mag how she is trying to get her pre-pregnancy body back, talks about her son Luca, and of course, her plans for baby number two.

Here are some snippets:

On pressure to get back into shape
“I don’t have a project waiting on me that I have to bust my butt to get into shape for so it’s more about how I feel. I like working out since it makes me feel more clear-headed and positive. I did pilates and yoga during my pregnancy but I really missed getting my butt kicked. But then I read comments on my Twitter page about how I’m waddling into pilates and I go, ‘wow, that’s a really mean thing to say. I just had a baby three weeks ago!’ There is a little bit of pressure but most of it comes from me.”

On how Luca got his name…
“We don’t have any rhyme or reason about why we chose that name. We had the names Cruz and Luca on our list with some others and decided at the very last minute what it was going to be. There is no good story behind it, which is kind of sad. We just liked the way it sounded together. We were thinking of Cruz as a first name and were just mixing and matching it with things on our list and came up with it. We liked the name Luke too but we wanted to do something different — but not crazy. Afterwards we found out his name means ‘bringer of light.’ I love that.”

On baby number two…
“To be totally honest, I had a really easy pregnancy and I did enjoy a lot of it. But a part of me isn’t like those women who love being pregnant. I love my baby and I miss that feeling of being attached to him when he’s kicking, but I was so ready to not be pregnant. Right now, I’m focused on being the best mom I can be and when I start working again, I’ll see how I juggle everything. But then again, my sister [Haylie Duff] and I are very close so I want Luca to have someone close [to his age] — but not too close!
