For some reason, I’m still trying to wrap my brain around the idea that summer is over. Not only is it over, Halloween is almost upon us! In LA, part of Halloween is going to Mr. Bones’s Pumpkin Patch to get a pumpkin (and have a lot of fun with the other activities there). Jennifer Lopez, Fergie, and Jessica Alba were some of the celebs seen there getting ready for the big day. RELATED: Jennifer Lopez flaunts her washboard abs.
Here’s Jessica Alba and Honor visiting a local Santa Monica market. They’re back to the regular grind since their quick getaway to Mexico is over. Haven must’ve stayed at home with dad Cash Warren. RELATED: Jessica Alba shares her secrets for a happy home life and staying in shape.
Rumor has it Jessica Alba will be attending Jessica Simpson’s wedding today, but for the 4th of July, she spent the day with her family. Jessica was spotted hanging out in Santa Barbara with her older daughter, Honor. The two also hit the beach along with Cash Warren. Awww… this Instagram video is too cute! Jessica Alba’s older daughter, Honor, turned six. Jessica marked the occasion, in part, with this little video. RELATED: Jessica Alba had a birthday surprise at the office.
It seems like everyone has a book to promote these days, right? Well, that’s exactly what Jessica Alba was spotted doing as she was meet and greet with her fans while promoting her latest book, “The Honest Life: Living Naturally and True To You” while at Redwood Restaurant in Washington, D.C. on Thursday afternoon.
Jessica looks so happy to be meeting her fans here, doesn’t she? Plus, I love her dress! She really does have fab style!

If there’s one person who knows how to mix business with motherhood, it’s Jessica Alba! The Hollywood actress, who has been busy heading her business, The Honest Company, graces the cover of this month’s Glamour UK Magazine where she talks about her career, her home life, and how she tries to stay organized despite all the chaos in her life. Here are some highlights:
She only wants to work in good films now: “When you have kids, you kind of think, I don’t need to work just to work. I want to sink my teeth into a character that makes it worth not being with my kids, or not being at the office. Having kids, having strong relationships with my husband, my friends, that it is my priority… that’s what really defines me, not a tabloid or a movie opening or a poster or an endorsement.”
On the Honest Company: “I am not approaching it like an actress, I’m approaching it like a mum, and I just want the best for my family and I feel like all mums do. You can’t really argue with that.”
Is she an actress or business woman now? “I am both… As you are building your career you make certain choices, and I didn’t know how to not work, and I didn’t know how to discern what I wanted to do or not do. I was just like, bring it.”
Her multitasking idol is Eleanor Roosevelt: “The perseverance she had made the world a better place for women, for the civil rights movement, just all the things that she did for veterans, teachers. She was one woman who dreamt big and didn’t take no for an answer.”

While I’m sure that we’re all guilty of doing it here and there (and especially on Facebook), according to Jessica Alba, moms should stop judging each other for the way they raise their children. And you know what, I agree with her 100 percent! The actress recently opened up to People Magazine, where she talked about motherhood and friendship, how she is trying to raise her family to clean and organic way and her children going “mental.” Here are some highlights:
On parental judging: “When you become a mom, the last thing you want to do is feel judged because everybody is trying to do the best they can. My girlfriend who is co-sleeping with her kids and may or may not be breastfeeding her 3-year-old shouldn’t hide that. She should be fine with that, and she shouldn’t feel judged. And then my friend who never even attempted really to breastfeed because it was too exhausting for her … she shouldn’t feel like she’s a bad mom.”
Stay-at-home vs. working moms: “I have friends who literally are better parentswhen they are going to work every day for long days and they have weekend time or night time with their kids. I have other friends who cannot even imagine leaving their child for one second and need to be attached literally at the hip, and that is fine as well.”
She doesn’t hesitate to take Honor out of school: “I feel like I have friends who can’t take their kids out of school [because] they’re so into school attendance that that is their number one priority. For me, I’m my kids’ happiness. Once my daughter gets old enough … if we still are continuing to travel this much, I’ll bring the tutor and she’ll learn. It’s more important for me to spend time with her than to not.”
Her family’s diet: “We don’t look at kale or broccoli or squash as healthy. That’s just what they eat. I try to give them whole foods and whole grains as much as humanly possible. I just feel like they will thrive on that. Will they go to dinner with the family to a chain restaurant? Sure we do!”
Indulgences do exist for her kids: “If they’re going to have a dessert, I like to make a dessert with Honor. We’ll make little cupcakes and that will be what they have two or three times a week and then the rest of it will be fruit or applesauce. They’re such little spazzes when they have too much refined sugar and flour. You know? They’re mental.”
