Maternity leave is over! Today is quite a day in the United Kingdom! As of today, Queen Elizabeth surpasses Queen Victoria as the longest reigning monarch with 63 years and 6 months on the throne. There are no special events planned to mark today: the Queen is currently in the middle of her annual summer holiday at her Scottish estate, Balmoral, and will host a private family dinner this evening. Prince William and Kate Middleton are currently visiting Balmoral with their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
