Whether you love her or hate her, let’s face it: Lana Del Ray is here to stay! The chart topper opens up to Nylon Magazine this month about how she’s trying to tap into her inner creativity to help her put out the best album EVER (just don’t tell Lady Gaga that). Check out some snippets of what she says below:

On her next album: “When people ask me about it, I just have to be honest–I really don’t know[...] I don’t want to say, ‘Yeah, definitely–the next one’s better than this one,’ because I don’t really hear a next one. My muse is very fickle. She only comes to me sometimes, which is annoying.”

Writing post stardom is hard: “It’s harder to be an observer when people are watching you. You have to go further inside because the outside world becomes a harder place to draw from.”

On quitting drinking before 21: “Sometimes when I write about my feelings, about what sounds like a person, I’m actually writing about the way I felt when I was completely inebriated, which was really good–until it wasn’t working for me anymore[...] Thinking about not drinking forever was very scary, but once I did it wasn’t hard anymore because I had all of these miracles happen that let me know I was on exactly the right path.”

She & boyfriend Barrie-James O’Neill are weird: “[Kurt Cobain is] a big part of our daily conversation. Jeff Buckley is another big inspiration. And Jim Morrison–I mean, we talk about these people like we know them. They’re a part of our relationship. We always say, ‘All of our friends are dead, and they never knew us.’ I’m lucky to have met someone who feels that way, too.”

On her new short film, Tropico: “It’s Elvira and Jesus and Marilyn and extraterrestrials all in one.”

LANA DEL RAY
Makes It Clear That She’s Not Into National Patriotism

Lana del Ray is making it clear that she’s not a celebrity who is going to be waving the red white and blue anytime soon during one of her next concerts. In a new interview with Electronic Beats, the indie princess – who has been having a hard time finding love on American radio stations – says that she doesn’t feel like an American patriot. Here is a snippet of what she says:

“Well, no one was really asking me for interviews, so there wasn’t really a reason to stay. Musically, I wouldn’t really work there because I wouldn’t know where to sing. I had a million shows lined up here, so that’s kind of why I went. And I didn’t really have any shows there. I mean, I could play on Sunset Strip and stuff. I could go back to New York . . . I think that my love for America has now become contained to the more specific things I appreciate about it. Like driving up the coast from Santa Monica to Santa Barbara–simple stuff like that. In terms of what I maybe thought it stood for, I don’t know. But other than that, I don’t feel like, ‘Rah, rah, America!’ F— that sh-t [laughing].”

Whoaaa…. what do you think of Lana’s comments here? Someone sounds a little bitter if you ask me…

Lana Del Ray Out & About in Paris

American singer Lana del Ray certainly fits in wherever she goes. The fresh-faced songstress and model (she recently did a killer campaign for mega-retailer H&M!), has left in New York and is doing a ton of traveling these days. She was seen at the MTV EMA’s in Germany earlier this week, looking like a glam 70s girl.

This morning, she appeared on the streets of Paris outside the Hotel de Sers where she is staying. The celeb wore very minimal makeup and a pair of jeans with a plain navy sweater, but her star power shone through the crowd. She humbly took a moment to wave and say hi to photogs. This rising star has certainly not lost her manners!

Lana Del Rey Is A Pepsi Girl

Oh la la! “Born to Die” singer Lana Del Rey was spotted leaving her hotel wearing a Navajo inspired jacket and blue jeans before heading to a studio in Paris, France on Wednesday afternoon.

Lana recently confirmed that her Scottish boyfriend, Barrie-James O’Neill, was the one who inspired her to write a lyric about a particular part of her body tasting like Pepsi Cola. With a ringing endorsement like that, you gotta wonder if Lana will land a role in Pepsi’s Super Bowl commercial this next year!

Celebs Rock the Red Carpet at the MTV Europe Music Awards

What a red carpet! Last night’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Frankfurt, Germany were absolutely swarming with some of the hottest names in the industry. Germany native Heidi Klum was there to host the awesome event. She wore a wild green dress with a sky-high slit up on one leg. Other fashion heavy-hitters to grace the carpet were Kim Kardashian and country star Taylor Swift.

Got your celeb fix? Oh wait, there’s more! Also in attendance were the Jonas Brothers, rapper Psy, singer Rita Ora, American superstar singer Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani and her band No Doubt, Call Me Maybe singer Carly Rae Jepsen, and Lana Del Ray. I’m sure the music was great and the awards were fun to watch, but the real question is… who had the best outfit? What do you think?

Lana Del Ray Meets Her Fans Outside Her Hotel In Paris

Indie princess Lana Del Ray was spotted leaving her hotel in Paris, France on Friday afternoon. The songstress looked both casual and relaxed as she took the time to sign a few autographs and pose for pictures with some of her loyal fans who were waiting for her outside.

Lana sure does love to bring back the early nineties in her style, right? I don’t think I’ve seen anyone wear as many flannel shirts and Keds as she does. Check out our photo gallery below and tell us, what do you think of Lana’s out and about style? Is it a hit or a miss for you?

Lana Del Rey Heads To London

Singer Lana Del Ray was spotted arriving at Heathrow Airport in London, England on Thursday afternoon. The indie cutie looked to be rather casual and comfortable as she had on a Budweiser sweatshirt with a pair of jeans on.

Is it just me, or does it seem like Lana is more popular across the pond than she is Stateside? I might be alone in thinking this, but there’s a good chance that her fans in Europe probably “get” or appreciate her music more than we do here at home. What you guys think?
