Although the Academy Awards is usually considered the final big awards show of the season, once MTV moved their annual movie awards show from the fall to the spring, they became the very final awards show of the year. Last night the 2014 MTV Movie Awards were held, hosted by Conan O’Brien. The red carpet had so many different looks, it’s impossible to say there was a single trend. Check out our gallery and the full winners list after the break.
It’s still awards season – kind of. Although all of the big name awards (Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes) have been handed out, there are still a few more awards up for grabs including the Kids’ Choice Awards.
The first round of presenters for the Kids’ Choice Awards have been announced, and we’re thinking it could actually be a good show! Kristen Bell – who is currently out promoting the Veronica Mars movie – and Ian Somerhalder from Vampire Diaries have been tapped to present at the 2014 Kids’ Choice Awards. Will Arnett has also been announced as a presenter, which means – at the very least – there will be some good laughs and lots of pretty things (Ian… those eyes!) to look at!
The show is set to take place on March 29 and will air on Nickelodeon. This year it will be hosted by Mark Wahlberg!

Okay, I’m going to let my geek flag fly. Here’s a NEW trailer for ‘Transformers 4′! It’s called ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction.’ Mark Wahlberg basically replaces Shia LaBeouf as the star. From what I can tell from the trailer, it looks like the world has decided they no longer need transformers.
Then these REALLY big transformers that look like dinosaurs and space ships show up. Something tells me the people came to change their minds about the transformers being “extinct” pretty fast. ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ looks like another action packed movie with lots of jaw-dropping visuals, courtesy of director Michael Bay. Mark Wahlberg has said, somewhat surprisingly, that he wanted Brad Pitt to play Christian, the lead role in Fifty Shades of Grey. E! Online reports that at the Hollywood Reporter’s Producers Roundtable, Fifty Shades producer Michael De Luca joked that the role “looks a lot like Mark Wahlberg”, to which Wahlberg replied: “No, sounds like Brad Pitt to me.”
The 42-year-old added that he wanted to buy the rights to the film, before Universal & Focus Features won the bidding war. He said: “I almost fired my agent Ari [Emanuel] over [Fifty Shades] – not because I wanted to play the part. We were aware of the book from very early on, and we were close to securing the rights, and then we get into this bidding war.”
He added: “I wanted to produce because I was never going to get the script first. I had to wait for Brad Pitt to pass.”

It has been announced that Mark and Donnie Wahlberg are set to star in and executive produce a new reality show for the A&E Network! The unscripted series will centre around their family-owed restaurant, Wahlburgers, in Hingham, Massachusetts says The Hollywood Reporter. They are set to open a second restaurant in Toronto next year.
The series, also called Wahlburgers, takes a look behind the scenes at the family and their business and will also feature their brother, Paul, who is the executive chef.
David McKillop of the A&E Network said “We’re thrilled to partner with the entire Wahlberg family as they graciously lift the curtain to share this new side of their story. This series offers viewers a new take on the celebrity reality series showcasing one of America’s favorite families.”
Speaking in an interview on the Arsenio Hall show Donny said “Mark and I, my mom, my brother Paul – we’re all gonna be in the show,” he said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Here’s a new trailer for Mark Wahlberg’s movie, ‘Lone Survivor.’ It’s based on the memoir of Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell with the same title. This looks like a gripping movie. I think I might need a Xanax before watching! It premiered at AFI last night and will have a limited release in December.
‘Lone Survivor’ will release nationwide on January 10. Deadline says the limited December release is a way to sneak into awards season. Does it look like Mark does a job worthy of an Academy Award here? I think it’s possible! How does ‘Lone Survivor’ look to you?
Well, this is one celeb who never seems to age! We just can’t get enough of the steamy Mark Wahlberg, who doesn’t stop working for a minute.
The actor was seen yesterday in Hong Kong, China filming scenes for his new movie, Transformers: Age of Extinction. Whether or not the movie is your favorite genre, I think we can all agree that with Mark at the helm it will be another box office hit.
What’s your favorite Wahlberg film of all time?
