Yesterday, I posted the rumor claiming Tom Cruise was ready to reprise his role as Maverick for a Top Gun Sequel. This morning, Paramount put an end to that buzz saying there is no truth to the online reports.

Sorry “Top Gun” fans, it appears Tom Cruise returning to the franchise has not been cleared for take off. Earlier this week, reports surfaced suggesting Cruise was in line to reprise his role as Maverick in the fighter jet film, 22 years after the original. However, “Access Hollywood” has confirmed those reports are false.

Tom Cruise may be coming back for a sequel of his hit movie Top Gun. I mean, only 22 years later, but who's counting.

Sources say that the script is written and ready to go, and now they're just waiting on Tom to say yes.

An insider said: “The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor — and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot.”

If he does agree, could this be as huge as the original?

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes enjoyed a day of racing at the Red Bull US Grand Prix MotoGp race in Laguna Seca, California this past weekend. You know a couple has been together awhile when the start dressing similarly. I started doing that with my husband on accident and we had to create a rule... Whoever put it on first gets to wear it.:) Do any of you find yourself doing the same thing?

Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and baby Suri were spotted on the set of, "Eli Stone" in Los Angeles yesterday. Tom Cruise was on set to film a cameo for an upcoming show and brought along his adorable family. Suri is such a cuuute little girl and she's always wearing the most adorable dresses.

Someone is developing a flair for fashion. And wouldn't it make sense that it would be Katie Holmes' daughter, Suri. Her mom has turned herself into quite the fashionista and now Suri has become very picky with her clothing... especially shoes. 

"She loves it. She is always into the shoes. It's very sweet to watch. She is so smart and bright. She's not into pink, though, like some little girls."

If you heard that Tom Cruise filled a room with flowers for ex wife Nicole Kidman to celebrate the birth of Sunday Rose, you were misinformed. Today, it was announced that the Cruise family (including Connor and Isabella) sent Nicole and Keith a baby basket to welcome the new addition.

The high-end gift included chenille Giraffe baby blankets, items from the Hermes baby line and other newborn necessities. 

Tom and Nicole spent a lifetime together. Things didn't work out. But it must be nice to see one another moving on in healthy, happy marriages. 

Tom Cruise built a fencing room in his new home and has recruited best buds Will Smith and David Beckham as duel partners.  Will tells The Daily Mirror,

"Tom has a room for training. We don’t get enough time for hanging out, just us three guys, so this is his way of getting together and bonding.

"David and I go to his home and just do fencing. It’s a lot of fun. We wanted an activity that was strenuous, but we’re getting older - we have to think about slowing down. We’ve got to watch our joints. Especially my knee… Ow."

I mean... is he MAD? Who on EARTH would say anything bad about Scientology these days? Hasn't he SEEN the video? Everyone that does dies - it's like The Happening but in real life. Dr. Drew Pinsky is singing a different tune after recently calling Tom Cruise's religion a cult.

"A lot of people in the public eye who behave strangely have mental illness we can learn from, and much of it is based on childhood trauma, without a doubt," says Pinsky. "Take a guy like Tom Cruise. Why would somebody be drawn into a cultish kind of environment like Scientology? To me, that's a function of a very deep emptiness and suggests serious neglect in childhood – maybe some abuse, but mostly neglect."

He must have came home one day and found all the animals in his house dead and all his cereal boxes emptied on his kitchen floor. I'm just kidding Tom!! 

Today People Magazine has a new apologetic statement from Drew saying he was just using Tom as an example and by no means was diagnosing him.

"Dr. Drew meant no harm to Mr. Cruise and apologizes if his comments were hurtful," Pinsky's rep said in a statement. "Although Mr. Fields's intent is clearly to slander and discredit Dr. Drew, under no circumstances is Dr. Drew making a blanket diagnosis about Scientology nor Mr. Cruise whom he does not know. Dr. Drew was simply using Mr. Cruise as an example of someone who is recognizable to help the public understand. Again, Dr. Drew meant him no harm."

More Scientology criticizing in the media...Dr. Drew Pinsky called it cult like and speculated on why Tom Cruise joined the religion. In return, Tom's lawyer fired back and compared Dr. Drew to the Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

Dr. Drew said,

"A lot of people in the public eye who behave strangely have mental illness we can learn from, and much of it is based on childhood trauma, without a doubt. Take a guy like Tom Cruise. Why would somebody be drawn into a cultish kind of environment like Scientology? To me, that's a function of a very deep emptiness and suggests serious neglect in childhood - maybe some abuse, but mostly neglect."

And Tom's lawyer responded saying that Dr. Drew is an "unqualified television performer who is obviously just looking for notoriety," adding,

"The last time we heard garbage like this was from Joseph Goebbels."

Dr. Drew isn't unqualified though...he does have an actual medical degree, practices and teaches psychiatry.

Regardless of the criticism, is it ever ok to compare someone to a Nazi?!?!?  Then again, was it ok for Dr. Drew to call Scientology a cult?

How about... this old story again. Prisoner is such a word isn't it? If they want to say Katie Holmes is unhappy in her marriage that is one thing. But prisoner!?

As Katie gets ready for her role on Broadway in All My Sons, Life and Style Weekly is claiming that Tom Cruise is tagging along not giving Katie time to herself. Um... what about Suri? Did they think that she would go to NY without her daughter? And while she is rehearsing and on stage, who would watch the little girl? Of course Tom has to come! 

“She loves her family, but she was looking forward to having a little space and independence,” says an insider close to the actress.

The source is also claiming that during their housewarming party, Katie couldn't force herself to put on a happy face.

These days, Katie’s having a harder and harder time putting on a happy face. At the couple’s housewarming party at their new LA mansion, Katie looked annoyed, says a witness — and the tension between her and Tom was obvious. Says the insider, “Katie tried to smile and have a good time, but she’s really upset with Tom these days.”
