Becki Newton In Redbook

Becki Newton In Redbook

Becki Newton, the razor-tongued, uber-trendy receptionist at the fictional Mode magazine on ABC’s Ugly Betty is discovering that the life of a shallow bombshell has its perks. In the September issue of REDBOOK, she tries on the season’s most glamorous looks and shares her views on beauty.

On real beauty:

“When I think of the most beautiful women, they’re not supermodels. My mother is 53 and comfortable in her own skin. My mom doesn’t spend hours in front of the mirror or at the gym. She doesn’t deprive herself of anything. It’s ultimate beauty when the inside and the outside match up.”

On playing Amanda:

“I’ve learned there’s nothing wrong with being a little fussy. I used to pride myself on being low-maintenance—I wore it like a badge of honor. I would leave the set with my hair all big and full after the show and feel like I had to immediately throw it up in a ponytail. Now I think jeans, a tee and big hair are a great combination. Glamour is fun! Spending time to get ready isn’t about being fussy: it’s about taking care of myself.”

On working at a fictional fashion magazine:

“Amanda has the best job. She has access to all the clothing, but she doesn’t have to do all the work.”

On beauty trends:

“While I’m sure I’ve left the house looking like a raccoon, it’s better to try and fail than not to have fun with it.”

Cindy Crawford For Redbook

Cindy Crawford For Redbook

Cindy Crawford can still rock the runway at 43, but this world-class beauty/entrepreneur knows that aging gracefully as a Supermodel isn't as easy as it seems. Crawford, who is launching her JCPenney home collection next month, graces the September cover of REDBOOK and inside, poses for intimate photos with husband Rande Gerber at their Malibu, CA home.  In the interview, she opens up about cellulite, the pressure of being an aging Supermodel, and what she does on date nights with Rande .

On cellulite: "I have cellulite," she says, laughing. "I admit it. But sometimes I just say, 'Screw it, I am going to wear a bikini.'"

On the pressures of aging: "I think I look good for my age. I am not 25; I am 43. That feels like a big pressure, especially when the National Enquirer is dying to get a picture. I am so aware that I don't want to change the way I live because of that kind of attention. So you say, 'Screw it. I am wearing a bikini, and I am not putting on a cover-up.' You just brace yourself for a bad picture."

On being Cindy Crawford: "People get excited that they're meeting the Cindy Crawford from the Playboy spread 13 years ago, and I am a mother of two now. I have to check in with myself. It's good to have an awareness of the outside pressure; I can't let it get to my core. I love my life."

Blake Lively For Complete Woman Magazine

Blake Lively For Complete Woman Magazine

Everywhere you turn, there seems to be a 'Gossip Girl' waiting for you. Here's Blake Lively on the cover of Complete Woman magazine. In her interview she talks about her similarity to Martha Stewart.

"I love art, painting, interior decorating, baking. I'm very domestic. I'm a little bit of a Martha Stewart type."

That's funny she should say that. About a year ago, I caught Blake ON Martha's show and she said the same thing. This actress wants people to know that she is nothing like the character she portrays on television.

It's very easy to associate the two right? Same with Sarah Jessica Parker. We all expect her to be Carrie Bradshaw and when she walks around in Uggs and sweatpants, people just can't believe their eyes.

Heroes Redemption Poster Focuses On Hayden Panettiere's Upper Body

Heroes Redemption Poster Focuses On Hayden Panettiere's Upper Body

What is UP with the Hayden Panettiere cleavage shot owning the majority of the real estate for the 'Heroes: Redemption' poster? Guess it's another case of sex sells despite the fact that the actress is a teen.

Why not use Ali Larter? We all know she's coming back this season anyway right? It's no big secret.

How do you feel about the poster?
