Rose McGowan And Robert Rodriguez Are Just Fine

Yesterday it seemed Rose McGowan was having a very bad week. She lost the lead role in Barbarella because she didn't have box office pull and broke it off with fiance Robert Rodriguez because he wouldn't back her up when execs wanted to fire her. TODAY everything is peaches and vanilla ice cream because she is still with her man AND the rights to not one, but three of Robert's movie leads.

The actress is starring in three of her fiancé's upcoming projects – Barbarella, Red Sonja and Woman in Chains! – despite reports to the contrary, according to her rep. "The production of all three films is moving forward with Rose to star," the rep tells PEOPLE exclusively. As for claims that the couple have called off their engagement, a source close to McGowan says, "She and Robert are fine."

I wonder if over the weekend we will see these two dining in a very public place...

Rose McGowan Splits From Fiance Over Movie Role

Rose McGowan has split with Robert Rodriguez over the upcoming film Barbarella. Robert is directing and Rose was supposed to take the lead, but after her recent box office dissapointment, the bigger ups decided she couldn't handle the role.

The NY Post is claiming that Rose wanted Robert to pull some strings, but he didn't. In the end, the movie will go on with a bigger name.

"Too bad Grindhouse didn’t gross $100 million (£50 million). Then, maybe, Barbarella would have gotten the green light. "Instead, the moguls were saying, ‘We need a bigger star, a bigger name.’"

The project was reportedly set to be axed by Universal Studios in October, because of Rodriguez’s decision to cast girlfriend McGowan in the lead role.

No rep confirmation at this point. So let's take it for what it's worth.

Rose McGowan was photographed leaving the Neil George Salon yesterday with a friend looking casual and lovely in a beige sweater. I love how she manages to look fantastic even with a cast on her leg. I'd be all grumpy and in sweats and there's a good chance instead of leaving a salon I'd be leaving an ice cream shop. :)I took a look at her IMDb file and she's in another two movies this year and they both look kind of dark and odd like her previous stuff. Anyone a fan of Rose's movies?

Rose McGowan was photographed leaving a hair salon in Beverly Hills this weekend looking pretty and casual. When I first saw her bag I feel in love with it's simplicity and of course it turns out to be Prada. Why do all the beautiful bags have to be so expensive? :)In other news, with all this Dita / Evan talk we've been having lately - I remembered this weekend that Rose was Marilyn's gal for a while herself. You wouldn't know that by looking at her today.

Check out those curves! Both Amy Smart and Rose McGowan looked great as they posed for photographs backstage at the Herve Leger for Max Azria Fashion Show in NYC. Both of them are attractive, but they certainly went for different looks.Every time I see celebrities posing like this, I wonder if they actually are friends (or at least know one another). Most likely, they were thrown together for the shot - kill two birds with one stone I suppose.

Here's Rose McGowan shopping at Barney's in Beverly Hills yesterday and I have to say I think Rose looks really good here. For winter, I love a sweater dress with tights and a pair of boots. And because I was SUCH A FAN of Charmed, this girl will never be able to do wrong in my eyes. Well, except for that half naked thing she wore once with Marilyn Manson. Remember that? eek!

Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez are officially engaged! He is the director of Planet Terror, a dvd I gave away a few weeks ago. There was some speculation of the two being romantically linked considering the pair constantly showed up at events together. But they always insisted they were just friends. Then Rose started walking around sporting a huge rock on her hand. People Magazine is reporting that a source close to Rose broke the news. Can you believe Rose was once engaged to Marilyn Manson????I wonder if he is going to wear that hat on their wedding day. ;)

I know Rose McGowan had a little work done (who hasn't??!) - but unrecognizable? That's what the studio execs responsible for casting the upcoming movie, Speed Racer thought. Instead Christina Ricci landed the role.

The studio felt like she was hard to recognize and worried that by the time the movie hit theaters, fans might not know who she was," says our insider. A rep for the actress said "she was not pursuing this role."

In other news, Zac Efron was supposed to play the male lead but he just couldn't connect romantically with the lead female during the auditions. Awww...

Efron, meanwhile, may be taking over the world with the "High School Musical" franchise, but his youth worked against him for the part of Speed. "During his auditions, Zac never connected to the romantic lead in the reading," says our source. "By the second round, the casting crew didn't feel he was believable as a leading man/hero."
