Celebrities Attend Sony's Windows 7 Launch

Any PC fans excited about the new Windows 7 launch? Truthfully, I'm not one to run out and upgrade operating systems. If it ain't broken... right? However, if you talk to tech people, they say that it's a much better product and worth the effort. I'll see how it goes over the next few weeks and make my decision then.
Microsoft invited a variety of celebrities to attend the launch celebration for three new Sony VAIO products and the Windows 7 operating system at Guastavino's in New York City. And when I say variety - I mean it.
Mischa Barton, Star Jones, Christian Siriano, Jill Zarin, Gretta Monahan, Nigel Barker, and Peter Facinelli to name a few.

Trias Spring/ Summer 2010
My last show of this season was Trias Spring/ Summer 2010, Lineal Study. I was eager for some fashion that would haunt me long after leaving the show. Joaquin Trias did just that. The first sign that things were going to go well was Nigel Barker's name card on a seat in the front row. He arrived a few minutes later and I can honestly tell you that he is every bit as hot in person as he is via your tellies. Now, let's talk fashion.
Unlike many other collections this season, the color story was simple, the designs uncomplicated and to the point and the influence obvious. The model didn't circle the runway and disappear behind the stage before you could even figure out the design. With fruity colors of blue, yellow and green contrasted with beige and black, the designs reflected this yearning for the streamlined and clean cut. The collection comprised of skirts, blouses, shorts, dresses and jackets. Each commanded attention with pleating detail that carried throughout the collection. Trias took on a brave, architectural silhouette. Imagine cups of the same size, stacked one on top of each other, then flipped upside down. This was the effect of the skirts, as the inner lining clung to the body and the outer fabric spread in a perfectly pleated design, outward. This pleated detail was mirrored on the back of a strapless black dress, larger as the top of a loser fitting blue dress and softening up for a front of a simple shift.
The fabric stole half the show.
While everyone did sequins this season, Trias' fluid style did not allow for this. Instead, he chose a fabric that was glossy, almost like liquid tar, and of a heavier weight so that it dictated the movement and the shape of the garment. Trias used tucks and darts to create puff in skirts and jackets, as well as dresses, adding an irresistible classiness to the classic LBD. The two simplest pieces were black pants, one cropped and tapered, the other short with clean, crisp lines. He wisely paired these were sheer fabric on top that held independent shapes around the body. The collection was enchanting and simply elegant, fit for the woman who knows how to get the right type of attention with a minimalist take on beauty.
Each dress was a work of art, defined by the way Trias capitalized on the properties of the fabric, allowing for a mutually respectful relationship between design and fabric, each shining in its own realm. Most of these pieces were also very wearable, a major selling point. All in all, Trias' debut was a successful one. I can't wait to see his collection next season.

Celebrities Attend The Nanette Lepore Spring / Summer 2010 Runway Show
Today I had the pleasure of attending the Nanette Lepore Spring / Summer 2010 Fashion Week show at Bryant Park. This was the last show that I will be attending this season, so I made sure to take pictures of everyone who was invited.
Lauren Conrad was front and center (literally) and was happy to pose for photographers and video crews that were asking for interviews. A few fans even got close enough to the reality star to take a few personal pictures. I'm sure all their friends are DYING.
What do you think of her green dress? How about her hair? I always love the way Lauren uses braids and twists.
Also in attendance was Robert Verdi (who flows in and out of shows without even showing an invite), Nigel Barker, Karen Duffy, and Lili Taylor. Karen and Lili came together but unfortunately were not seated next to one another during the show.
I attached some of my favorite looks from the show - what do you think about the line?
