Minnie Driver Can't Believe She Only Has One Child
Minnie Driver is “surprised” she has only one child. The 40-year-old actress grew up dreaming of having a large family and still hopes to have siblings for her 18-month-old son Henry.
“Growing up, I thought I’d have at least five kids. I’m surprised I have only one; I really want more.”
The British star never intended to wait so long before having children, but insists she has no regrets about how her life has turned out. She added to the Times Online website:
“It was never the right time, right place or right person. Too many women put it off until everything is in place, but there’s never a perfect time, is there?
“I wouldn’t change a thing about what I’ve done in the past because what may have been bad choices have all led me to this moment. I’m incredibly happy because I’ve got my beautiful baby and lovely partner. Everybody is cool with the situation.”
So would she ever move back home to the UK?
“It’s been great for Henry to spend time with his cousins. Could I move back? No.
“I live my life outdoors, surfing, hiking, riding and running along the beach in the sunshine, having barbecues; even though I miss home, I could do the things I wanted to, personally and professionally.”
Minnie sounds so active! I never knew that about her because the paparazzi don't follow her around that often.

Minnie Driver Talks About Her Favorite Hobbies

Minnie Driver says surfing and yoga are absolute necessities.
The British actress lives in Florida and says she can’t get by without her surfboard or the Indian meditative practice – though since becoming mother to Henry, 17 months, she’s had less opportunity to ride the waves.
“My church is surfing and yoga. If I can get in a surf or practice yoga then I will. Yoga’s great for when you’ve got a full brain and can’t stop the mind chatter.
Surfing is an utter, necessary part of my life, though I’m less obsessive than I used to be. I used to be up at 4.30am in my car, driving, trying to see where there was a break and what was going on.”
Minnie also told how she likes to take her young son to the beach, and that they learn about the sea life they find there together.
“If the tide’s out we’ll look at the anemones and the starfish and the crabs. Somebody told me that if you hum next to a hermit crab, it brings it out – and it works.
“Henry goes up and hums at any shell he sees now, because he thinks there’s going to be a crab in it.”
Does the word "anemones" remind anyone else immediately of the movie, 'Finding Nemo'? :)

Minnie Driver's Father Dies

Minnie Driver is mourning the loss of her father, who has died at the age of 87. He suffered a heart attack in London. Minnie, who has been filming a movie in Scotland, put the production on hold to fly to the British capital when he fell ill.
The star turned out with her family on Wednesday for the London funeral and broke down in tears as she read the eulogy during the service.
Driver also took the opportunity to explain her decision to wear a bright red dress to the funeral, telling mourners:
"I am not being disrespectful. I am wearing red because my father always used to tell me that I was the kind of girl who would a wear a red dress to a funeral. So I wouldn't want to disappoint you, Dad."
How beautiful - but oh my goodness! I can't stop crying with these posts this morning. First Brittany Murphy and now this one.
What a wonderful thing for Minnie to do and I am sure Ronnie had a laugh.

Minnie Driver Talks About Being A Single Mom

Minnie Driver says being a single mother is like an “insane earthquake”.
The British actress and singer - who has always refused to name her son’s father – is amazed at how much her life has changed since she gave birth to 13-month-old Henry, but is now used to putting him first.
“If he’s sleeping I’m trying to sleep and when you’re breast feeding you’re the milk machine.
“There’s no time to pick up the guitar, much less go for a walk or have a beer. The first year of Henry’s life has been just an insane earthquake for me.”
The 39-year-old star – who is preparing to start work on a new album – says she always planned to be an older mom because her movie and music commitments were as fulfilling to her as raising a family. She added to Parade magazine:
“I waited a long time to have children because I had this career that was kind of like my kid, it required as much nurturing.
“There’s no amount of hassle that could be bigger than my love of Henry.”
The ‘Motherhood’ star has sought advice on raising Henry from an internet support group, but admits her schedule is so hectic she scarcely has the time to use the resource properly.
"I use the site called 'Mamapedia' that's amazing, where you can ask questions and mothers across America can answer, so you can get maybe ten answers and it's kind of a cool resource. But sitting down and reading about somebody else's tough experiences of being a mother, you're suddenly like, 'My God, I've got a kid and I don't have time to read about this. I've got to go do it."

Minnie Driver Calls Her Son "A Big Flirt"

Minnie Driver's little boy, Henry, may be only one year old, but he's already interested in ladies, according to his mother.
"He blows kisses at ladies in the supermarket. He's a big flirt! Big blue eyes, white-blond head of hair — he's very handsome," Minnie gushed to In Touch about her too-cute tot at the Gotham magazine premiere of her new film, the aptly titled Motherhood.
"He's walking, he's starting to say a few words, he snuggles with the dog. He’s just heaven!" Minnie added.
Too cute! Henry was born in September 2008, and his father's identity has never been disclosed.

Celebrities Out With Their Children

Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney took their twin daughters Eden and Savannah to Santa Monica beach and the park over the weekend for a little outdoor fun. I always love hearing their names. Eden and Savannah instantly brings a sense of calm to me. I guess because I associate both locations with serenity and beauty.
Minnie Driver was seen carrying her son Henry in Cross Creek Park looking a bit and frustrated. Wonder if it was a difficult feeding?
